H.E.A.R.T. Martial Arts is more than just kicking and punching, it is about building a healthy Mind, Body and Spirit. While other martial arts classes may talk about building one's character and tempering the spirit we actually make it a requirement for class participation.
Our classes are free in a monetary sense but our students must "earn" their instruction by giving from their hearts to help others (For the week in which volunteer work is completed for a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit/Charity organization we will reward you or your child with free Martial Arts lessons).Volunteer work (civic engagement) is mandatory for all participants.

We are very proud of them and all that they have accomplished in both their Martial Arts and community service endeavors.
H.E.A.R.T. Martial Arts is a free Community Martial Arts Program that has begun in the Essex County - Newark New Jersey area. What is unique about this program is that the students have agreed to perform volunteer service work for other local and national nonprofit organizations to "earn" their lessons.
The H.E.A.R.T. Martial Art program is run out of the Newark Police Academy located at 1 Lincoln Avenue, Newark N.J. 07104. Note: We are looking to expand into other schools or districts. In addition, we would welcome any opportunity to work though one of the community recreation centers anywhere in Essex County.
