In my last two blogs I talked about the sounds your drains may make as a possible indicator that you're about to have drain problems. Sometimes drains don't make a sounds before they start backing up. Another sign to look for is finding sewage residue in your bathtub or shower with or without water in it.
Another warning sign that has a very distinct sound is a washing machine line starting to back up. It sounds like a long tube being filled with water. When the washing machine starts to drain you'll hear the water going down the drain and since it can't handle the amount of water it's being given, it starts backing up.

We have used Cross & Sons for our plumbing problems 4 different times and they have been consistently great. We just had an issue with a pump in our basement and they responded really quickly and Barney was fantastic - extremely knowledgeable. Besides making the repair he also offered really good tips on how to avoid problems we might have in the future. What I like about our dealings with Cross & Sons is that they seem really intent on solving the problem while not over-charging for extra or unnecessary work. And their service is great - really prompt and they show up when they say they will.

I had the Pressure Relief Valve fail early in the morning. I called them and they were able to get 2 Repairmen to the home in about an hours time. BJ and Micah were the 2 Techs that came out, they listened to what I said, asked some questions and then looked at the problem. We discussed the fixes and the costs - agreed on the work and price - and they got busy. Within minutes they were working, they had all the needed parts in their truck and they worked as a team. I liked that they put on disposable cloth shoe coverings when they were in the living area because they had to be in some mud outside

Called Cross & Sons to get and estimate on have all galvanized pipes replaced in our home. Was told it was 120.00 to come out and give estimate which was fine. We are still waiting on call back to get put on schedule for an estimate. I guess they don't want any new business. I would not recommend this company to anyone, seeing they cannot even do a call back.

The BEST! Call them if you need anything. My water heater was making a noise that sounded a bit like a tea kettle. I had recorded the sound and sent it to Travis via text. He had the problem fixed in no time. No more tea kettle sounds coming from my water heater! VERY AFFORDABLE! Ben in the office had kept me informed of when they would arrive.
