The Institute for Healthcare Excellence partners with healthcare organizations to nurture relational skills necessary to create a culture that embraces trust, respect, compassion, and teamwork - creating an environment where quality, safety, and efficiency can flourish. Through this work, physicians, nurses, and the caregiver team reconnect to purpose and restore joy to the practice of medicine.
Patients want to trust their caregivers, and the most effective way for physicians and medical teams to gain trust is to establish deep and meaningful connections with patients and their families through open, honest communication. That's also the way to build trust among the physicians, nurses, and other members of the medical team who deliver quality care.
In a time of tremendous change in the healthcare industry, physicians, hospitals, and health system often struggle to achieve sustainable business success and deliver exemplary value to their patients, families, and communities. It is increasingly clear that healthcare organizations must create strategies that extend beyond astute capital investments, contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, technology acquisition, and reputation management.
CUE is designed to provide necessary skills to change the conversation around chronic pain management, by Connecting with the patient, creating a deeper Understanding of his/her overall health and then Engaging the patient in non-opioid alternatives (CUE). Participants will practice skills to create trust, compassion, and patient empowerment leading to a successful and sustainable non-opioid pain management approach.
Leadership behavior is critical to model, support, and sustain a culture of excellence. The creation and ability to sustain this culture of excellence will depend on leaders modeling behaviors and maintaining a respectful but uncompromising approach to behavioral accountability. The culture/environment we create is largely dependent on the moment to moment conversations we have with our patients we serve and with each other.
