My name is Cara, and I founded Maximize Wellness to provide therapeutic counseling services for adults, just like you, who may be living with emotional challenges, mental health issues, stressful life events or transitions, or are feeling bogged down with worry about everyday pressures.

Thank you for your interest in learning more about me and Maximize Wellness. My goal is to help others successfully navigate through times of stress, feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, trauma, and day-to-day challenges. I have spent many years in the healthcare industry in a variety of roles from Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director, Pharmaceutical Sales Trainer, District Manager, and since 2014 small business owner.
My job is to provide tools and support to help you heal emotional wounds, build resiliency, more adaptive coping skills, and thrive! Counseling / therapy services are solution-focused and collaborative using an integrative and eclectic approach to treatment. Counseling ortherapy services help people who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and stressed-out, to gain control and feel more confident, competent, healthier and happier.
Teletherapy is similar to individual counseling/therapy sessions, however we meet using technology through your phone, tablet, or computer using a video call platform. Teletherapy sessions are conducted using a HIPAA compliant platform called TheraNest, which you can easily access via phone, tablet or computer.
Brainspotting (BSP) uses the neuroscience finding that where you look affects how you feel. It is a powerful neurobiological tool (derived from EMDR*) used to treat somatic (physical) and emotionally-based conditions. It's a way of accessing the midbrain through the optic nerve using eye position to treat symptoms caused by traumatic memories.
Strength Coaching is a combination of problem solving, goal setting and strategies focused on your individual character strengths. Keep in mind that coaching is NOT the same as counseling or therapy. Although both therapy and coaching can overlap, there are distinct differences which I am happy to discuss further during your free 20 minute phone assessment.
