I was struggling quite a bit when I went to SFCC. When you’re there, you’re treated as family. Treating yourself and others well is rewarded through goals. Accomplishing those goals can get you a tangible reward. The staff is nice and compassionate. There’s fun activities to do after the designated time for school. I put in a lot, and I got a lot. Anyone that goes to SFCC can get a lot out of it, if they put effort into it.

Stepping Forward was truly a godsend. We found ourselves in deep crisis mode with our daughter at the beginning of this summer and no intensive therapeutic programming in-person available in the state of NJ due to Covid. Ann and her team worked after hours and over their break to create as smooth a transition as possible from acute care to their summer programming. The entire team works tirelessly to deliver warm, safe, compassionate, responsive and truly individualized care - all within a group setting. As promised, they met her exactly where she was with her needs and adapted as needed over the

Never have I felt more grateful to have stumbled upon a place then I am for finding Stepping Forward when I did. At a time when I felt lost and hopeless, and when other “professionally run” camps were unable to accommodate my 4.5 year old mainstream child who was dealing with impulse control, following group instructions and related behavioral issues, the amazing camp team here led by Anne, Sara and Jason stepped up, took her in and gave her the positive environment and age appropriate goals to success and thrive. The ratio of staff to children helps to create balance and control. Additionally

I wish I could give Stepping Forward 10 stars! I have 3 children, each with different mental and behavioral health issues so I have dealt with many many agencies and programs - and Stepping Forward is by far the best facility I’ve ever worked with. Their approach is smart and thoughtful and effective. Christine and her team are caring and accommodating and wonderfully kind - they are angels. I can say without a doubt that they genuinely love my son. And the program is also an amazing support resource for me as a parent. I continue to recommend Stepping Forward wholeheartedly!

Life with my son has always been . . . complicated. And, as a single parent, raising him has been challenging. My son came out of the womb with a difficult temperament; he has been diagnosed with ASD, ADHD, ODD, and anxiety. Over the years, I have employed various therapists, services, and accessed many resources to help him (and me), but life continued to throw its curveballs. I reached out to Christine, the CEO at Stepping Forward, when I was in desperate need of help and on the advice of several people who had heard great things about the center. She listened as I divulged my sadness, frustrations

I cannot say enough good things about Stepping Forward Counseling Center (SFCC.) My daughter has been diagnosed with anxiety and adhd. She has the most difficulty with impulse control. This has led to her being asked to leave school mid year. Jill, Anne and the whole team accepted her with open arms into the intensive day program. My daughter went from dreading school and worrying about what each day would hold, to willingly going off to the program. I saw a huge reduction in her anxiety and improvement in her cooperation and ability to sustain friendships. They were able to challenge her to grow

Where do I start? We tried the summer camp for my school avoidance, anxiety ridden rising 7th grade daughter. She was recently diagnosed with autism and was in a bad mental state. They saw her for what she was and recommended we not start the school year but continue with them for a few weeks. We wanted her to try school with a new 504 in place. Huge fail, back to stepping forward with amazing advice and support. They went above and beyond to help our family and our daughter to not only feel better about herself but to become a leader and thrive in her environment. They were so supportive, responsive

We just started with Stepping Forward a few weeks ago and we couldn't be happier. The staff is extremely warm, supportive and responsive and the program content keeps our child engaged and challenged. We are so pleased with our decision to join Stepping Forward. The owner Christine has been extremely flexible and accommodating. She is gracious and open minded and we are grateful for her professionalism as well as for the support from Ann and Melissa and the rest of the wonderful staff during her beginning weeks in the program.

Stepping Forward has worked in collaboration with Boonton to provide an exceptional ESY for my boys. Now that my boys have aged out of the school system, SFCC has individualized an ADL program to facilitate independent living in this COVID environment...a truly remarkable feat !!!
Thank you Anne and SFCC staff for your compassion and patience in individualizing your program to fit our needs !!
SFCC's summer program and accessibilty through zoom was priceless and I highly recommend this professional and dedicated program.

Where do I even begin with how wonderful this place is?! I’m so grateful to have found such a well qualified, unique, kind and professional facility that has done wonders for my daughter. This will be my second summer enrolling her in their summer camp. My daughter, 7, has both Autism and ADHD which makes her communication and focus skills low. Although she makes amazing strides throughout the school year, the summer slide is real and it takes her very long to get back into a school routine. Now, with Covid related school shut downs, I was even more concerned with her lack of face to face services
