Currently, equipment is installed across the United States and Canada and in such diverse locations as Great Britain, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Argentina, Russia, Bosnia, Siberia, Kashmir, China, Korea, Japan, Chile, Thailand, Malaysia, Iceland, and Greenland. ASE manufactures a full line of deicing control equipment, including sensors, controllers, and remote control/monitor panels.
We've also completed an extensive list of custom projects for both military and commercial customers in many different fields of application, including antenna positioners, military test fixtures, status multiplexers, and surveillance and security equipment to name a few. Sensor/controllers for roof, gutter, sidewalk, and driveway deicing are available for both electric and hydronic systems.

The ASE DS series of sensors and controllers provide a balance between price, sophistication, and control capabilities and capacities. Each unit is housed in a sturdy NEMA 3R enclosure rated for outdoor use. All internal electronic components are spec'ed for -40oC to +85oC operation.
All line voltage units are ETL UL Standard 508/CSA C22.2 No. 14 Listed and European CE EMC directives have been achieved, opening the door for both domestic and overseas use.If you are tired of throwing old sensors away with no possibility of repair, take a look at the DS series. This unique design allows configuring and adjusting the unit for most efficient operation.

The National Electrical Code and Canadian Electrical Code both require it. And you know you need it to be compliant. But a true 30mA trip point GFPE breaker can be hard to find. And, if you DO find one for your specific load center, prepare for special ordering, long lead times, and high costs! If you are working on an older home a GFPE breaker may not be available.
The ASE DS Series of sensor/controllers can be counted on to reliably operate snow melting systems automatically for many years. Sometimes, however, the user would like a remote indication that the system has activated or the opportunity to remotely override the sensor. ASE offers options for remote control & monitoring of a sensor/controller tailored for the broadcast industry and for residential and commercial users.
Some of the measures described below require opening your DS series sensor to make adjustments. Most sensors will have both high voltage supplying the sensor itself and high voltage being switched by the load contactor(s). The precipitation sensor on a DS unit clears itself by evaporating the rain or snow that lands on it.
