Working as a community, we as educators and parents work together to prepare the child to embrace the world. We are a small school with a mixed aged classroom. We educate toddlers as well as children in Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten. Additionally, we provide tutoring services for Pre-K through 6th Grade, a variety of academic camps and kids activities each summer, and special community events.

Hello, my name is Deborah Doss. I am a mother and a Montessori Preschool Teacher and the Director/Owner of American River Montessori. We strive to provide a stimulating environment so your child can develop to his or her fullest potential. To do this, we teach by the Montessori philosophy. Dr. Maria Montessori discovered that children - especially preschoolers - learn through their five senses.
American River Montessori offers school programs for Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten to students 2-1/2 to 6-years-old. American River Montessori supported my daughter, Sophia, in developing strong math skills. For example, she was already learning multiplication before she entered Kindergarten. When Sophia was evaluated in Kindergarten it was clear that her understanding of math concepts was advanced.

We believe that nothing is more important to selecting a Preschool or Kindergarten for your child than a visit to experience the school environment and meet with the instructors and staff. We set aside time on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings for scheduling visits for new and prospective students and their families.
