Nestled in the heart of Asheville, N.C., Studio Chavarria is a remarkable reflection of its home city as well as its founder and head stylist, Guadalupe Chavarria II - complex and sophisticated, yet relaxed, unassuming and refreshingly organic. Step into its space and be embraced immediately by a beautiful gallery atmosphere.
At Studio Chavarria, every appointment is very important to us. Your appointment was scheduled just for you; to fit your needs. We ask if for any reason you must cancel or reschedule an appointment, that you provide the courtesy of contacting us within a full 24 hours (at the very minimum.) This allows time to contact the clients on our waiting lists and hopefully fill the gap in our very busy schedules.
As a second-generation stylist with over 20 years of experience, Guadalupe excels at relaxing his clients, listening well, and executing a wide range of skills based on techniques from various creative influences. Thus providing exceptional hairstyles, cuts, and colors. Guadalupe is passionate about all aspects of the beauty industry, sharing his knowledge and training others.
Originally from Atlanta, Amy has been working in a salon environment since 2010. She has called Studio Chavarria her home since 2012. When not in the salon, she spends her free time hiking in the beautiful blue ridge mountains or attending shows and festivals, supporting local musicians and artists.
Holly is a Asheville Native who loves being outside enjoying the mountains of the place she calls home. In the salon she is well educated and been licensed in hair styling for 10 years. She specializes in hair painting and balayage, while also using other blending techniques to give you the perfect color to compliment your haircut.

Studio Chavarria is a beautiful salon that's conveniently located across the street from the Rankin garage. Amy Hood has been doing my hair for almost three years and I cannot imagine going to anyone else. She is a gifted stylist and color artist. She also always stays on time and is flexible with her schedule. If you're lucky, you will see the "salon dog" Schwarz while you are there!

When I visited this salon almost 2 months ago for the first time, the stylist, Kat did excellent work on my hair color and cut I went platinum blonde . The atmosphere was very outstanding, Relaxing , peaceful and very clean. Their prices are very reasonable for in Asheville. I will be returning for a root touch soon and they will be having my business for a while. I am very pleased with the service I have received from this salon. I highly recommend this salon.

Could not be happier! I am very particular with my hair and hair color and I could not be more pleased. Guadalupe is not only extremely talented but also professional and accommodating! The salon is lovely and convenient but the headline here is best haircut and color I've ever received. I am a repeat customer and was just as pleased on my return visit as my first. HIGHLY recommend!!

Guadalupe is an absolute artist and I have never had a better experience at a salon in my life. I felt as though I had known him for years almost instantly. He is extremely honest, kind, and most importantly he is genuine. Guadalupe came in on his day off to cut and color my hair. He transformed my black mop into a platinum pixie in just a couple of hours. My own mother now travels three hours every couple of weeks to get her hair done by him because he is without a doubt the best of the best.

The was the WORST haircutting experience I have ever had in my life with the owner GUADALUPE CHAVARRIA.
This experience happened more than 2 years ago, and I haven't been able to find it within myself to say anything about it until now because of how TRAUMATIC it was.
I admit I showed up 15 minutes late to my appointment--a mistake on my part. However, Guadalupe's response was TERRIFYING: he literally used his comb so AGGRESSIVELY that he RIPPED OUT MY HAIR leaving my hair SEVERELY DAMAGED.
What was even more damaged than my hair was my spirit. I was in such shock at his behavior

Sleek but not an intimidating atmosphere. Art on display everywhere, friendly dog greets you at the door and the owner is funny and sweet.
Kat gave me a natural looking balayage and wavy bob touch up cut and did a superb job. She was astute but relaxed and friendly. Fantastic communication and understood exactly what I wanted. (I am extremely particular about subtleties and looking natural.) Great service and great price!!!

AMAZING! Went to Studio Chavarria for a color correction after a completely disastrous balayage job. The owner is literally a miracle worker and not only SAVED my hair and reversed the unfortunate condition it was in, but made it look better than pretty much any other color service I've ever gotten. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! They know what they're doing and are very detailed and meticulous in their work while still being efficient. I was in and out in just a few hours with a quadruple step process. The best of the best here folks!!!!

Amy does my hair and she’s absolutely wonderful. I don’t trust anyone with my hair.... at all and I trust her completely. She will work with you to bring your hair dreams to life. She can really work some magic. Super talented and kind.

I've never written a negative review on yelp but I wish I had a review like this to have saved me from the worst salon experience I've had. First, all over 1 color was $170....so with the tip, it was over $200. Even in high end salons in Houston, (4th largest city in the US) I've never paid that much. In fairness, I did not ask for the price prior to service, however I've been to several nice salons in my lifetime and anticipated it to be about $100-$125 MAX. During the color, Monica seemed in a hurry and combed through my hair which was tangled from the color very roughly.

I've been going to Pam Mease for around 8 years and she is an incredibly talented hair stylist. She has done a variety of unique updos, styles, and cuts on my hair. Pam encourages you to try new looks, but also provides her genuine and professional opinion. Pam's creativity, honesty, and knowledge makes her one of the top stylists in Asheville!

Omg. Y'all. This place is the bomb!!!!! Genna was the best stylist I've had in years! I live in Waynesville and my previous stylist from Asheville moved so I've been on the hunt for two years for a new stylist. She did EXACTLY what I asked, plus put her own awesome touches on it. Genna I can't thank you enough!!!!! I'm so excited to have found you. I was told about Guadalupe, the owner, but he was booked up so I took a chance on Genna and won the jackpot! This salon is lovely and comfortable. The reason I go to this salon though is because my amazing hairstylist is there. Her name is Monica Watkins! I live in a different county than this salon but I drive there just to keep her as my stylist! She's the best!! She takes care of my very hard to handle hair. She knows just how to cut it to make my hair the best it can be!! She is also an expert at color. Fantastic stylist!!

I really recommend Genna if you come to this salon, she did my roots, cut with layers and side swept bangs plus a blowout, I really felt like a celebrity walking out of the salon with such beautiful hair! Not only is she very professional and amazing at what she does, but she's also very personable and really listens to what the client wants.

I started going to Studio Chavarria because I was following my hair stylist (Samantha Antaramian) and ended up staying here, even after Sam's departure, for Heather. Heather is the nail technician and she is beyond amazing. I get the shellac manicure which lasts *forever*. Depending on my mood (and budget) I can get away with going only once a month. Heather guarantees her work for the first week and is more than happy to fix any mess-ups free of charge. (But tip her for her time, would ya'?) She is always willing and eager to do fun nail art, which I love.

Hillary Small is amazing! She's super attentive to your needs, and really pays attention to detail . She has a knack for working with your hair and shape to get what you're after. I have a huge mop, and most folks end up making it look like Broom Hilda when they're finished. Hillary had the expertise to work with my "special needs" head. I no longer fear getting my hair cut!
Hillary has also done a few coloring jobs for me and I have to say, never had someone else color my hair before that I felt did it better than I could, until Hillary did! It was worth every penny. Highly recommend her.

Let me just say that Hillary is the bomb. She has done my hair many times, and I have LOVED it every single time. She is not only a great stylist but she is kind and caring. After searching around for a new stylist for almost a year, I ran into some pics of Chelsea's portfolio online. Let me tell you, I'm so glad that I did! I brought in a pic and she gave me EXACTLY what I wanted, letting me know what she was doing the whole way AND she gave me a mini tutorial on how to style it at home. I love this salon, and my stylist, Samantha rose. I've followed her from Ananda, to the water lily, and now at Studio Chavarria. The atmosphere and products are top notch, but Sam is just incredible and passionate about what she does. I highly recommend this salon for everyone. If you want a more timeless sophisticated look or a more bold trend look, they have you covered.
