We planned a large family dinner (14) that included a few young kids at Carmellos this past weekend. Everything was stellar. Gaby and the wait staff did an excellent job and accommodated every single request we made with a smile, including moving chairs and highchairs more than once, serving sliced apple to a small child who wouldn't eat anything else, and presenting our celebratory cake on a side table. I was a little worried with recent reviews regarding service but could not have been more pleased with how they handled us. I set the menu ahead of time and ordered the wine and champagne as soon

Solid Italian food, a bit over priced for quality, quality is definitely better then a macaroni grill or carrabbas. Wine is nothing special decent selection definitely could have more in the Italian range not bad wine list just not what you'd expect from an Italian restaurant. Service is good. Everything came out properly and for the most part in a timely manor. If your out in the manassas area and want Italian I would suggest trying it for yourself

We stopped by here on a spur because we just moved to the area and would like to familiarize ourselves to Old Town Manassas. The restaurant is advertised itself as a Portuguese/Spanish cuisine. We cannot testify to the authenticity of the cuisine but overall, it was good. My wife would like to return on our next special occasion.

My husband and I went to Carmello's on Saturday to celebrate our birthdays. The service was excellent... attentive without being overbearing. Our food was delicious...my husband had the short rib ragu and I ate the mixed grill. Very tasty, fresh seafood. The mascarpone mousse for dessert was delicious. But...what made this a five star experience instead of four was the manager on duty that night. I had received a gift card via email months prior, but had accidentally deleted it. My sister and law gave me the receipt, so I was able to show that to the manager. While he couldn't take the time that

Carmello's is one of the best restaurants in Northern Virginia (in fact they win an award for it this year). Their food is outstanding and well prepared fresh to order. The atmosphere is elegant but still comfortable. The staff are the best and most attentive. My wife and I have gone here several times, we recently came for our anniversary and it was one of the best times we have had when eating out.

Friends and family are in town visiting and we needed a place for a special celebratory dinner. In the heart of Old Town, I knew the setting, staff, and food would provide an experience we all will cherish for years to come. Carmello's menu offers facinating options to tantalize you and from the moment you step inside, no matter how busy it is, the staff are wonderfully friendly and always close at hand for questions or to respond to requests.

Normally we would have made reservations, but we had planned to go to another restaurant and it was closed. Showed up on a Saturday at 6:30pm and we were seated immediately. The restaurant was busy, and it was nice to see so many people eating out again. I ordered the filet mignon tips with mushrooms, onions and ricotta/spinach stuffed pasta and my husband had veal medallions with risotto. The meal and service was excellent! It was my birthday a few weeks ago but they still gave me a complimentary dessert. Highly recommend Carmello's.

This tiny Italian restaurant is nestled in downtown Manassas. Our friend recommended it so we did a double date here last night. They offer open table reservations but it didn't look like a lot of people made them.
Steven was our waiter for this magical experience. Our party decided that desert looked really delicious, and we wanted to ensure we had room for it - so we ordered it first! The crème brulee and limoncello cake were on my side of the table, so naturally I favored those two! Steven brought out complimentary white wines for our table to try. I figured it tasted pretty good so

We went here for Easter brunch. Had a reservation made three weeks ago and we arrive and they claim they "lost" our reservation, despite the fact we called them 30 min before our arrival to confirm. So we were seated in the attached Monza restaurant rather than the actual Carmello's dining room.
Food was pretty good - a bit pricey for the lack of ambiance and small portion sizes. All in all giving this three stars because the food was alright, just didn't love the ambiance or the service, or the fact that they managed to lose our reservation.

Superb food and amazingly attentive service without being overbearing. All three courses were delicious. Picture of entrees are Agnolotti stuffed with short rib, and the other is a filet mignon with brie and asparagus. Everything from the bread and complimentary wine through the shrimp appetizer, entrees and desserts were too rate.

We had our babysitter cancel on us so we brought our 2.5 year old with us, expecting them to say that he couldn't come in. But to our surprise they said it was not a problem. They seated us in the side room which was so much better for our son. The waitstaff was wonderful. They were great at recommendations and service.
The food:
Appetizer- Fois Gras
Delicious. The glaze on top was perfect and the mushrooms and onions complimented the fois gras perfectly.
Salad- Insalata Carmello's
Great house salad. Delicious.
Entrees- Rack of Lamb and Short Rib
Rack of lamb was amazing. Meat cooked

My wife and I evaluated several restaurants in the NVA area before selecting Carmello's to host our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. We're so glad we did! From the planning, tastings, menu selections, room/table layout and execution, we were guided every step along the way (thanks Gabby!). The resulting event was absolutely flawless!
We, and our guests (40) found the service to be impeccable and food to be truly outstanding. By the end of the evening we felt as if we had made new friends among the staff and found a new favorite restaurant that we plan to visit often (and we live

I came here last night for date night and the food was just amazing! We were the only ones in the restaurant so the ambiance felt very intimate and exclusive like we reserved the whole restaurant we started with the calamari, which was perfect. It wasn't heavily breaded or drenched in grease, and tasted so fresh. I got the lobster ravioli and my date got the filet Mignon topped with foie gras, which I ate his foie gras, and both entree's were to die for. I will definitely be coming back, my new favorite.

Unfortunately, this restaurant has changed so much since it's beginning days. The restaurant is quite dimly lit, and also a little cold. The speed and quality of service was great. However, my family and I were not impressed at their attempt to run a new menu. We each had to modify an item on the menu to get anything that we would even eat. Seen here, in my photos on this review, is the 8oz. Prime Filet with mashed potatoes and broccoli, from other items seen on the menu. Sadly, my meal was luke-warm and the mashed potatoes had large bits of material in them, instead of being finely mashed. It

I LOVE small, intimate Italian restaurants and I really wanted to love this place, but it was lacking.
Pros:
*Service- waiter was attentive but not bothersome
*Appetizers were excellent (we had red pepper bisque & insalata de portobello)
*Ambience- quaint, intimate, low volume, low light, etc.
*Menu appearance was nice
Cons:
*Entree- flavor lacking, sauce is very bland (ordered: pollo cavolo & bucatini fruiti di mare)
*WINE- we ordered a bottle of wine off the wine menu and it came with a twist top... we personally feel this is classless and very cheap (and would not purchase twist top

We had dinner at Carmello's for the first time and was expecting delicious food but were quite disappointed. The scallops appetizer was delicious, perfectly cooked and served with asparagus and creamy mushrooms, but a little heavy. The creamy chicken cauliflower soup was nothing extraordinary. My date wanted a ceasar salad but they said they don't have romaine lettuce. We shared a Paelha Valenciana and was utterly disappointed - the dish was more like a rice soup topped with a variety of seafood. There wasn't even enough rice for the amount of seafood. The lobster that was served
