I'd give zero stars if this was an option. Hired Mr Beles for my son back in July. Paid 5,000.00 for him to start the process of getting my son a Franklin hearing also back in court to be Resentenced under the new juvenile child laws.

"Thank you Attorney Beles for bringing my husband home to me. My husband was sentenced to 80 years to life. He was going to have to spend the rest of his natural life behind bars. I hired them more than three months ago to file some legal papers to correct inaccurate court files and I've heard nothing from the courts since that time. Trying to get these guys to respond is impossible, and when they do respond, it's one sentence. I've paid them several thousand dollar and they've done nothing but file a few papers.
Even today, I've reached out to them and expect to hear nothing once again.

My experience was with the attorney Manisha who was nothing but professional. Can't speak to the remaining staff in the office but the encounter with Manisha was very positive.
I would absolutely recommend Manisha as I felt her dedication was very professional which unfortunately is not always the case with attorneys.

I am very disappointed to see so many Bad reviews. I have retained Annie On several different cases throughout 15 years and recommended her on 3 other cases to acquaintances. We were all satisfied with her results. Her communication may not be the fastest but she has SEVERAL Criminal cases and dedicates personal attention to each one. Annie has called me at home after 8pm with updates, her assistant Manny is always available and if you call early enough Robert will assist you (Annie's father).

My husband needed assistant with a lawyer and I sign on. Now I was very pleased when the first lawyer Mr. Adams came on but when he left my husband case has not even been dealt with properly. It frustrated me because I don't even have a degree an I feel that we can better represent ourselves. This law firm is a joke. If I didn't already place lots of money in this company I surely would have left. If I also had the funds for MR. Adams I would surely switch. Don't GO HERE UNLESS YOUR DESPERATE!!

It's sad when there are individuals that take advantage of others for their own gain. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2 good reviews on here are from family members of the attorneys that work for this firm. I too and my husband are victims of this law office. I was charged the common $2500. I was never given a formal contract but a simple receipt with a note on it as to what they would do for my husband. In the course of 10 months, my attorney changed 3x. 1- for the death of a family member 2- who claimed he was leaving the firm but still did "side" work for the firm, and 3rd

I got nervous after reading these reviews as we had just hired Anne Beles on a DUI charge. She was able to get the charge reduced to a wet and reckless which we were very happy about at the time and which may ultimately be helpful at some point in the future?? It's hard to tell because we eventually found out that because it was a commercial license the CA DMV has a mandatory one year suspension regardless. Of course no employer or union will hold a job for a year.
The most frustrating thing was that the communication really fell apart after the court date. We had to make a lot of calls

I have to agree with both posters below. This is by far one of the worst law firms. They have a big office near Lake Merritt, and then run clients through here like a factory.
They're good on selling you to sign them on, but after that everything goes down hill. You just become another client; and in fact there's nothing more to gain from you because you've already paid.
Everything from lack of action, to poor response, to doing just the bare minimum. Once they take your money, they try to get rid of you as soon as possible. You pay good money to get proper representative, and

Our experience with Beles law office has been a very positive one. Though several folks helped us during our personal ordeal we worked primarily with Attorney John McCurley. His responsiveness to our situation was excellent, his understanding of our needs well handled and the resolution resulted in the outcome we desired. Needing the assistance of a lawyer was a necessary but unpleasant requirement. We were glad to have the guidance a young go-get-em attorney to lead the way. I would definitely use his services in the future should the need arise.

Poor job at client management and even worse, contemptuous of clients.
Unresponsive to calls or emails, staff are skilled in apologizing for his lack of action, most likely due to having to practice this on a daily basis.
Will echo the statements of another poster: they file extension after extension, not because they need the extra time to actually work on the case but because they routinely wait until the last minute to actually do any substantive work on the case.
Work that is produced is error prone and unprofessional, as if they had stayed up

This was the worst experience ever!!! Attorney John McCurley who took my case for a certificate of rehabilitation was absolutely unprepared timid.
He relied on his briefs and was not able to argue the accolades of my attendance of college, 10 years of work in the public sector as a Firefighter and EMT. John McCurley is not a strong orator, nor a strong attorney. He is unrehearsed, and cannot be relied upon to defend the facts. Do not spend your hard earned money on Beles Law Firm and avoid Mr. McCurley especially.
This was a waste of $2500 and a waste of nearly 14 years of trying to clear
