Real martial arts training transcends mere physical skill and the ability to defend oneself. It is an ongoing journey and not a destination. Each practice can yield new discoveries and provide a sense of self-fulfillment and accomplishment. It is a journey of a lifetime. Taiji Quan, more commonly written as Tai Chi Chuan, is translated as Grand Terminus Boxing or Grand Ultimate Boxing.
Shaolin Kung Fu differs from Karate and Tae Kwon Do in principle and technique. Karate comes from Okinawa and Japan. Tae Kwon Do is from Korea. Shaolin Kung Fu originated at the Shaolin Temple in China. Shaolin Kung Fu is more fluid and makes more use of circular techniques. Power is generated in much the same way as a towel that is being snapped.

Best Dojo in Tampa Bay. Master Scrima is one of those masters almost impossible to find anymore. He is the best I have seen in 20 years. He will teach you different techniques, life applications and also life suggestions. He is a true martial artist. I highly recommend master Scrima for your kids and yourself. Excellent place.

I don't know what those other two parents are talking about. But if you just want to go some place that will blow smoke about how great your child is with the child not putting in any work then this studio is not for you. But if your child is serious about their art I highly recommend master Scrima. I have been to other places that just promote your child for showing up and not on their technical knowledge and skill. Not the place for us so I was so thrilled and impressed when we started here. The master is extremely knowledgeable and motivates his student to strive for their best. My daughter

With over 30 years of martial arts experience I can tell you that this school is the real thing. If you want a cookie cutter, black belt factory...this school is not for you. If you want Integrity, respect, and authentic Chinese martial arts, you will not find a better school. It was a privilege to study there.

I was a student at the Chinese Martial Arts Center when it originally opened in the early 1980s. When I joined the school I had several years of experience with another martial art. That style emphasized flashy kicks, but it was not practical for self-defense. I often found myself on the ground when 'sparring' with my friends.
After only a few months at the Chinese Martial Arts Center, my skill grew beyond my own expectations. A friend found himself thrown through the double doors at my high school after he jokingly 'tackled' me in the hall. I didn't even realize what happened until after the

This school is a poor choice for children. It’s an OK school for adults, if you’re not bothered by regular references to ‘sissies’ and ‘sissy punches’ in the adult classes. The owner is an older European émigré. I’m sure there are plenty of MMA schools with similar attitudes but it may not be your cup of tea.
The children’s classes are boring. The kids come in, sit silently and wait for class to begin. Talking is discouraged, for both kids and parents. No one greets you, unless you’re new and they want you to sign up. Parents conversing in more than a whisper get shushed. During

An unwelcoming environment for parents, no interaction with Master Scrima (unless you're buying a uniform), and very poor communication from administrative staff. A small space, with a wall that makes it difficult to view the class. The two teenage instructors were good, so one star for each of them.
