The staff of Brown McClay Funeral Homes believe that a funeral is a time to honor the life of the deceased and to celebrate family heritage. We strive to make each funeral a respectful and fulfilling experience that meets the unique needs of each family. Owned and operated by Lee and Cindy Payne, our two locations in Vergennes and Bristol enable Brown McClay to provide comfort to families in a facility convenient to their home.
I cannot thank you enough for the thoughtful care that you and the staff at Brown McClay Funeral Home provided for my father's service. He was a very special man and you made it feel like he was a part of your family as well. Your personal touches to his services made this day so special for us all.

Services
Lee and Cynthia take pride in ownership and are pleased to be able to provide comforting individual personal assistance for their clients through trying times. The first funeral business in Bristol was established by Mervin P. Varney in 1878 in connection with a furniture store located in a building where the Ben Franklin Store on the south side of Main Street now stands in the Patterson Block.
