Northaven Co-operative is an experience-based morning educational program where parents share the joys of learning with their children.

Services
Northaven Co-operative Preschool has been in existence since 1969. It is a non-sectarian school, valuing variety and differences in background among its families, with a deep commitment to the growth and education of children. Our first priority, always, is to nurture students and families, creating an environment for learning and growth.
In 1986, the Northaven Co-operative Preschool became one of the first preschools in the Dallas area to be accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). In 2011, we were proud to have met the most recent set of NAEYC standards, thereby earning re-accreditation.
One board member is designated from each class to communicate between parents and the Board by answering parent questions, polling parent opinion when requested, conveying messages, welcoming new families, as well as transmitting parent concerns, questions, and ideas to the board. To nurture the development of the whole child and provide parents with the opportunity to participate directly in the education of their young children.
The curriculum at Northaven Co-op is built upon principles of child development, with the purpose of helping children enjoy and manage the world around them, while preparing them for the academic life of elementary school.

We strive to maintain a balanced awareness between social-emotional and intellectual growth, so that each child may establish a basis for feeling good about himself or herself that supports continued growth in skills and learning.A rich environment with abundant space and materials for growing toddlers and preschoolers;.
As a Co-op family, you will join a community of lifelong learners. Together we create a diverse learning environment that supports each of us in our ongoing development as parents, teachers, students, and community members. Co-op parents take turns assisting the teacher in the classroom and bringing a healthful, nut-free snack when it is their turn to co-op.

Report
What a treasure Northaven Co-op has been to our children and our family. The school has amazing teachers who inspire children to explore, create and discover through hands on learning experiences. The bright and large classrooms are filled with sensory tables, manipulatives, art-play tools, and other sensory rich materials that get children involved in problem solving and parallel play.
We have enjoyed the unique opportunity of co-oping in our children's classrooms. It has been incredibly rewarding to get to be involved and know what a typical school day is like through our children's eyes. Through
