In 1991, we were under the supervision of Sensei Shigeo Nakazato 8o Dan (Degree). After long, hard and enduring practices we obtained our 1st degree as black belts in Karate-do and Kobudo of the Ken Institutes. For over 10 years we were in charge of the Branch of Ken Institutes in the state of Santa Fe, Argentina; with two primary schools, one in the city of Capitan Bermudez, and the other in the City of San Lorenzo.
We are currently the only branch of this style to teach and practice in the U.S. We have the privilege of sharing this activity with as many people who are determined to learn it. Our knowledge is well developed, allowing us to be teaching as we have been doing so for more than 30 years. Our teaching is not based as a combat method but instead as a philosophy of life, where values such as discipline, respect and friendships are taught throughout.

Karate is a method of physical exercise as well as mental discipline. It exercises all major groups, including the developing of strength, coordination and agility. This style of Martial Arts is known for it's rigorous training, strong discipline, and dedication to self-improvement. With Dojos Ken USA, individuals, as well as the entire family, can learn to defend themselves in a safe and friendly environment.
Karate Kata (forms) are sequences of movements that combine attack and defense techniques, implemented against imaginary opponents. SHO-KYU or Basic Kata: the foundation of basic techniques, where coordinated and structured movements are chained together, providing correct positions. CHU-KYU or Intermediate Kata: compound movements and changes in executions, where strength intercalates and speed changes during the development of the kata.
Bo-jutsu (technique of the handling of the stick), is a martial art born around the 1400's in the region of Chikin, and was later developed by different parts of Okinawa.
During this time, the commercial interchange was based on exchange (an activity filled with violence), the reason for which the water bearers and shippers began to use the wood sticks they carried on their shoulders with bulks hanging in both ends, as defensive and offensive weapons.

Sensei SHIGEO NAKAZATO, 8th Dan (Degree), Founder of the style "ZEN SHO SHORINJI KENPO NO TUMAI-TI" and grand master of the well-known school DOJOS KEN. The school was founded with the arrival of Sensei Nakazato in Argentina. The word "DOJO" means place of practice and the word "KEN" means fist. This style promotes traditional karate and kobudo, where respect, discipline and education are the three fundamental pillars of the Dojos Ken school.
This system or style dates back to the 1400s even though it did not become known until a century later, when its teaching became public. The Port of Tumai was a mandatory stop point for many boats, where contraband and fighting abounded. From there, Kempo was born, and so it follows that this system for its origin, is clearly a combative martial art.

Finally found a karate studio that my son loves and doesn't get bored. I had him at other karate places and never lasted more than 3 months. He has been here for over a year and I see the teachers really care about his progress. He is always happy and ready to go to his karate class and does not like to miss a class. But one thing I must point out about this place, it is ran by a family and not a franchise. The studio is so neat and beautiful- totally love the vibe and energy. I recommend- 5 stars.

I have been to a lot of karate dojos before and I love this place. The owners are very supportive, and very involved in building a community. They do their best to ensure everyone is moving correctly with the right form. I love this karate studio and if you are in the area check it out and judge it for yourself. I take private classes due to work schedule conflict and they always do their best to accommodate.

Amazing dojo and instructors. I discontinue karate a few years ago, but the martial arts mentality has proven to be more than exercise. It is a way of thinking and acting. It helped transform me as a person during my teenage years and continues to affect my life as an adult. Hoping to return in the near future.

I was referred here by my neighbor whose nephew takes karate at this school. He has been taking karate lessons for over a year and I can see that he is actually learning here. Previously, I had him enrolled at a different local martial arts school for almost 2 years where the place was very disorganized and constantly changing instructors. I like Dojos ken Usa because is run by a family of blackbelts and their classes are structured and disciplined. My son enjoys it very much and always looks forward to the days that he has karate. Dojos Ken Usa, you guys are 5 stars.

My son took classes for 3 years until we had to move. Ever since we moved to Tallahassee, we have not been able to find a traditional karate sojo like this one. Dojos ken Usa has helped my son work on self esteem, self confidence and motor skills. He loved it very much. I wish for Dojos ken USA to open a location in Tallahassee.

Although I'm not current member of Dojos Ken USA, I have learned a great deal from the instructors, they are excellent teachers with extensive knowledge in martial arts, very dedicated to the progress of each student individually. Their teachings and everything learned in the dojo helped me become more self disciplined, focus, and stay on the right path. Very glad my mom took me to karate lessons to dojos Ken USA while we lived in Florida. I have tried other local dojos before theirs and never felt in the right place until my mom made me set foot in their dojo. Thank you Dojos Ken, karate changed

My son loves these classes. He respects his instructors. I love how the Senseis teach all of their students respect and put emphasis on kids learning responsibility and discipline. Our family is very happy to have made the commitment to join this Dojo. We are very pleased!!!!!!! After trying many different sports and programs it is a pleasure for my wife and I, to hear our son say he is dedicated and committed to Karate.
