Our facility, established in 1963, was a vision of a local minister, Leonard Custer. His goal was to offer North Manchester a premier funeral home that featured chapel style parlors and adequate off street parking. Through the years the building has been modified to accommodate growth and the special needs of our handicapped friends.
In 1968, Darwin & Valeria DeLaughter purchased the business and in 1992 Mike & Kelly McKee became partners. With the DeLaughter's retirement in 2007, the McKee's became sole owners. When Mike retired in 2014, Kelly McKee became the sole owner. Located at 1401 State Road 114 West in historic North Manchester, we serve families from the communities of Laketon, Silver Lake, Claypool, Sidney, Bippus and Urbana as well.

Services
Knowing that each family has different desires for funeral services, we offer a wide variety of choices. Making decisions concerning these services before the need arises is time well spent. It allows you to discuss, understand, select goods and services, and determine the cost. At McKee Mortuary we offer 16 caskets on the premises in a variety of colors, material, and cost.
Kelly is a 1986 graduate of Manchester High School and holds an Indiana Life Insurance License and is a Certified Crematory Operator. Providing funeral service to the North Manchester area since 1992, Kelly is the daughter of Ira and Nancy Lewis of rural Silver Lake. She has two children, Abby and her husband Troy Martin and Mattie McKee.
At McKee Mortuary & Monuments, we have been assisting families with the selection of cemetery monuments for nearly forty years. Choosing a granite memorial for your loved one can be an overwhelming experience for some people. Our staff is well trained in every aspect of memorialization and can assist you with every detail.

Seems kinda strange to review a mortuary, but I have to say that
McKee's is wonderful to work with, as well as visit. I've been on both sides, as the one having lost a family member, and as the one visiting a deceased friend. Kelly McKee is one of the sweetest, most empathetic, and very professional people you would ever want to meet. Kelly is an excellent communicator and everything runs like clockwork while NEVER making you feel rushed or hurried along. The funeral home itself is very well layed out and accomodating with a furnished kitchen in the basement for refreshments during a viewing for
