That atmosphere is a testament to Michael Maher, who co-founded Counseling Associates in 1996 and serves as its Executive Director. Mike has been a licensed mental health counselor for 36 years and has earned an excellent reputation in the communities that Counseling Associates serves.
Counseling Associates has a staff of therapists, care coordinators, and administrative staff with more than 96 years of combined experience. While each has a very personal reason for entering the mental health field, collectively they have a common goal - to be welcoming and compassionate, to genuinely connect with people, and to use their knowledge and expertise to improve lives.
Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you've faced, there's nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it. In fact, therapy is for people who have enough self-awareness to realize they need a helping hand, and that is something to be admired.

Counseling Associates serves as an Integrated Health Home to coordinate care for adults with mental illness who are enrolled in Medicaid. Your IHH team helps manage your physical and behavioral health services, creates a whole health treatment plan, focuses on health and wellness, provides Peer Support services, 24-hour access to care, and promotes ongoing recovery and resiliency.
