Prajna is a design & construction company that has practiced the art of making quality spaces for living since 1984. Located in a renovated 19th Century Grist Mill in Southern Woodford County, Kentucky, Prajna has designed and constructed unique homes, out buildings, commercial/residential interiors and garden/farm structures, all one of a kind projects by commission.
Prajna's purpose is to bring a painter or sculptors sense of directness to the art of building. We believe that to separate the process of design from the act of making is a major shortcoming in today's building environment.

Above all else we try to build with truth and honesty, and believe that beauty will come with both. All our projects are one of a kind, each with its own set of possibilities, limitations and explorations. Prajna's sensibilities combine the ideas of beauty and perfection from the Greeks and the harmony and simplicity of the artisans of Japan.
Over the hill and through the woods. Our studio/shop is located in a renovated 19th Century Grist Mill in Southern Woodford County, Kentucky. We regularly take on summer apprentices from the University of Kentucky College of Architecture. Although we call Kentucky our home and have completed hundreds of projects here, we have traveled and worked throughout Ohio, Virginia, New York, Michigan, Florida and the Bahamas.
