Richard C. Hawkins started his construction career in 1972 building spec houses in the summer while he attended college. In 1980 he purchased land and developed a 76-lot subdivision for mid-income buyers. Hawkins Construction provided all site development and improvements and well as construction of both speculative and custom homes.
Our design-build capability allowed us to expand our operations into renovations and small commercial projects. When residential construction dropped off Statewide, we took the opportunity to bid on larger commercial and institutional projects, proving successful in this area of construction. We are a mid-size company that can easily manage a multi-million dollar project with experienced site supervision and project coordination.

Hawkins Construction has been in business since 1972, constructing quality buildings in the Central Kentucky area. Our personnel place great emphasis on workmanship, whether in our concrete work or our detailed finish carpentry. We welcome the opportunity to bid on commercial, institutional, ecclesiastical, golf courses and large residential work.
Hawkins Construction provided construction services for the expansion of facilities at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington. Our work consisted of construction of several new buildings and renovation of nearly every other building on their campus. Currently, Hawkins Construction is building a new Rood & Riddle Veterinary Pharmacy.
