As a Carroll County native, Dr. Widner's education started at Bowdon High School before he continued on to the University of West Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine.While attending school, he was the recipient of the Academy of General Dentistry award for restorative treatments, the Dolly Harnden award, and he was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon.

Receptionist gave me a hard time about my insurance card. i was prepared to pay in full myself, because they were not in our insurance network. she didn't want to file a claim herself, was very argumentative in front of other patients in the waiting area. I was completely embarrassed publicly . Will not go back because of her.. not sure how the dentist was :/ didn't make it that far.

I called to make an appointment the receptionist informed me that they were not in my network and I needed to pay out of pocket, this was fine with me. She followed this by telling me my insurance card was wrong and that I would need to contact my insurance company and pretty much file all my claims myself. She was extremely uncooperative during the entire call. Needless to say I did not make an appointment with this dentist, I should not have to jump through hoops to make an appointment to get my teeth cleaned.

From the minute I walk in the door, I feel that I am in good hands: all of the staff is courteous, attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. My dental hygenist is the best, but each of the hygenists are trained to be the best! Dr. Widener is meticulous in his work: his attention to detail always reminds me of a jeweler/craftsman. He purposefully continues to educate himself -- and his staff -- on all the latest information, techniques, technology (I know this because of their enthusiasm to share with patients). They are very friendly and the office staff are highly efficient with billing and appointments. Dr. Widener is very knowledgeable, with all the newest technology and techniques. His laser equipment is less painful and invasive than traditional dentistry. Melissa, my hygienist, is very gentle. I’m really glad I switched dentists. I feel that they are providing the very best dental care. I appreciate their efforts to make all visits as pain- and anxiety-free as possible!
