Services
Dr. Counts started Canyon Crossroads Animal Hospital with her late husband in 1987. Dr. Counts is a native New Mexican and graduate of Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her veterinary interests are broad and include reproductive medicine, soft tissue surgery, and behavioral medicine.
Wellness Exams - Our aim is to protect your pet from disease and detect early health problems. This includes vaccinations, blood work and other diagnostics to keep your pet as healthy as possible. Hospital Care - We have a well-appointed hospital, including several intravenous infusion pumps, an intensive care unit with oxygen delivery and an isolation ward for patients with communicable diseases.
At Canyon Crossroads Animal Hospital, you can expect state of the art medical care for your four-legged companions. We believe in nurturing the human-animal bond and creating a harmonious relationship between people and animals. You can expect to be greeted by a courteous receptionist, clean exam rooms, friendly doctors, and caring technicians.
Pet insurance pays, partly or in total, for veterinary treatment of the insured person's ill or injured pet. Some policies will pay out when the pet dies, or if it is lost or stolen. As veterinary medicine is increasingly employing expensive medical techniques and drugs, and owners have higher expectations for their pet's health care and standard of living than previously, the market for pet insurance has increased.
The CTX combines advanced features with a redesigned approach to dosing that gives you an unmatched level of versatility and control over your treatments. The CTX provides dosing solutions for the new, intermediate, and advanced user alike. A high-definition user interface provides a superior experience, and with the flexible architecture, you never have to worry about out-of-date technology.

Thank you Dr Caffey! He took such good care of my Hooey boy after having an awful experience at another east mountain vet. From the very beginning he was clear about what was going to happen and options moving forward. He’s compassionate and really took good care of us and I’m so thankful. The entire staff is amazing! Every time I call they answer the phone in a timely manner and help right away. If they’re not available, they return my call within a couple hours. When I dropped Hooey off for surgery the front desk was so sweet and told me I could call whenever. I’m really

: I saw Dr Jacquline for the first time today at Canyon Crossroads to euthanize my cancer riddled cat. She was so gentle, kind, and compassionate to both Hobo and me. I couldn’t stop crying because he was my parents cat that I inherited after they died and to me his death meant another loss of my parents. Dr. Jacquline understood that emotion and took her time letting me say goodbye. Hobo passed making little biscuits with his feet and with me giving him kisses. Dr. Jacquline is an amazing and compassionate young lady to whom I will always be grateful for her kindness. Veterinarian: Jacqueline

Critical: Reliability, Responsiveness
Used to be good until they got "too busy" to call anybody back. Do not recommend. I am currently looking for another vet after 4 years here.

The waiting room is comfortable and well lit. Got my dog seen quickly, barely a wait. Doctor and medical assistant were very nice, helpful and showed compassion. I like the location, pretty close to my house. Will definitely take my pets there in the future.

My guinea pig needed to be seen and Canyon Crossroads was the only place that could see him within the month. I booked an appointment and the staff were amazing, caring, and so friendly. For my second visit I saw the same vet, Kimberly. They were just as caring and concerned for his health. I'll definitely be coming back for future services.

I was treated extremely rudely by the owner’s son, Josh. I asked if there were any possible discounts (because, Covid) and he simply said with folded arms, “no, nope, no way.” And turned and walked away from me! What happened to service with a smile or “I’m sorry we can’t do that right now”??? I was stressed, low on cash, and my dog needed stitches. I don’t know what it is about people’s kids running their businesses into the ground, but after supporting this one for 40 years, his unprofessional and RUDE, ARROGANT behavior certainly is the way

I Meant to send this out sooner but its been a tough year. I just recently had to put my dog down and i can not say enough about this Wonderful Clinic. I cant say thank you enough to the wonderful staff for doing everything they possibly could to help my poor Max. They not only treated us like We were part of there family but went above and beyond any and all my expectations. I could write a short story of how well myself, my family and most of all my Dog was treated but instead I would just highly encourage for you to see for yourself. Thank you to ALL the Doctors and staff for everything you
