Cornerstone Barrel House is a locally owned restaurant and whiskey bar that features fresh local food and is serving a variety of special bourbon and whiskey drinks. There is a rustic feel to Cornerstone when you walk through the door from the reclaimed wood to the old school brick walls and the rich dark mahogany colors throughout.
Also in play are the flat screen TV's that stretch along the back of the bar so anyone can catch the game. We carefully crafted the menu to ensure that our customers get the best quality food at a great reasonable price. The plates section of the menu is designed so that people can share multiple items as well as the sandwich portion.

One of the best spots in downtown. Right on the lively Woodward, this spot is sure to be on your way to the arena or home from a night out. Arguably one of the best burgers in the city, and a rotating menu of creative appetizers keeps things fresh and new. Great food, great atmosphere, and pretty much any whiskey you can think of, they've got it all! By far the best barrelhouse in the area.

I have been to this place pre-covid when they served jalenpeno Cheddar biscuits. Man were they good!! Sharon the waitress advised that due to covid they could not keep up with their old menu. The new menus is just as good, just less the biscuits. I would recommend this place for lunch or dinner. I tried the beef short rib sliders with fries & truffle sauce. Delish! Meat was very tender & flavorful. The shrimp with angel hair pasta was really good too! The size and portion of the shrimp was pleasing. Drinks are good. Atmosphere is good and the staff is friendly. Check it out when you are in the

I was really blown away by this bar food. Fine dinner at a new level. The chicken noodle soup was the best I have ever had. Our waitress was very accommodating. The only negative thing was the meat on the loaded french fries was salty, on the positive side the meat was super tender and full of flavor. The salmon was delicious, and the pasta was full of flavor with humongous shrimp. The Cajun chicken flavor was out of this world. Great job.👍👍

I must have passed by this place literally thousands of times and I have finally entered inside just this past week. I will be honest, I thought it would be really bougie being on Woodward downtown but it was truly reasonable and the fare was excellent. They have excellent sliders that during happy hour are only 3$ a pop. Each one has a different and unique marinade. The macaroni and cheese was so much fun to eat as an appetizer while waiting for the full burger which, surprisingly was char grilled. For me that was the best part. I am truly happy I finally tried it out.

Great service from Ashley. Staff was warm and welcoming. Inside was not. Shivered a bit. However the vibe is still good. Music is great. Food is good. Smaller selection of beer, yet still decent. The mac & cheese is just okay- had high hopes for a little more. The main dish I had was amazing! (Brisket with mashed potatoes) Fish & Chips could have had a more substantial potato wedges instead of fries. Fish is good. Overall super happy to have a place open with kind service.

This was a really solid choice for dinner before a Tigers game. It's within a very easy walk to the stadium, and the menu was perfectly tuned to what we were looking for. 2 of the 3 people in our party were made very happy by the house burger (I particularly liked their choice of bun), and the third enjoyed a pork mini (slider). We found lovely beers on the happy hour menu to complete the experience. The Cornerstone isn't fancy, but I'm perfectly willing go consider it a five star dinner because it was exactly what we were looking for in a perfect location.

I have never been here before and found it on Google maps while looking for some good food before the hockey game. We ended up getting the Mac and cheese with chicken (mine) and pork (my wife). In her words, "This is the best Mac and cheese I've ever had!". I completely agree. The pictures don't do it justice. The shell noodles are pretty massive and the cheese is perfectly smooth and creamy.
I got the bourbon sour and she got the mule and both were really cool drinks. I wish I was able to buy one of the tin cups they served hers in. My only issue with the place is the lack of seating. They have
