I had my first son. Oh no wait, it started way before then. I have been interested in photography since I was a teen. I was on the high school yearbook staff as a photographer. It was back in the days of film! We did everything from loading the film to developing the film to prints. As time went on, I attended college at Humboldt State University and I became more interested in the visual arts and decided to become an art teacher.
Through a series of coursework degree in Art Education, and job opportunities, photography came back to me. My first art teaching job was digital photography (in which one week before school started, I thought I was teaching darkroom photography). So what is a teacher to do? Take as many courses in digital photography that I could.

Courtney took photos of our family of 5 a couple of months ago and she was wonderful and very easy to work with. Although she had many of great suggestions for locations to take the photos, we wanted to take them at our local beach and she did a great job of determining the best spots there for lighting and backdrop. She had some fun/cool ideas for poses as well! The photos turned out beautiful and I am happily hanging several on the walls. I have gotten many compliments on them. I would highly recommend Courtney!

Courtney just did a shoot of my large extended family of 20 people, including 10 children under 9. She found a great site close to where we were vacationing in Truckee. We got great photos of the whole group, individual families and various other combos. I told her I wanted it to be quick, so as not to create too great an interruption of our vacation. She had us in and out within an hour without sacrificing creativity. Courtney is very friendly, accommodating and fun. She was great to work with, listened to my requests, came up with creative ideas, and was very responsive and timely.

Courtney just took some amazing photos of my newborn baby. I couldn't be happier and everyone is saying how terrific the photos are.
It was easy to schedule the appointment with her. She showed up on time and came with lots of props, outfits, and photo ideas for the baby. She worked with me on how we wanted to do the photos and what our goals were. Finally, she was a baby whisperer - she has 3 children of her own and knew how to work with my baby and keep her quiet and relaxed during the photos so we could get some amazing shots
