Phenomenal food! Can't go wrong with the chicken or pork tonkatsu. Everything is wonderful so choosing is the hardest part

Best Teppanyaki (grilled, boiled, pan-fried) style Japanese food! Has vegetarian, noodles, rice entrees and gyoza (dumplings). Healthy and yummy! Will certainly go there again when in Wichita, KS!

I love their Spicy Teriyaki White Chicken Bowl Large. Its def one of my favorites, super simple and great. Comes with white rice. it does have a kick if you get Spicy, if you cant handle spicy do not recommend the spicy. I love it though.

I had the pleasure of having a wonderful meal for lunch today from Japan Express. I ordered the Pork Chop w/Fried Rice and Crab Rangoon. The Pork Chop was crispy on the outside and moist and succulant on the inside. The Crab Rangoon was fantastic as well. I've never had a bad experience here, ever. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

Great lunch spot! There is only one girl at the register so there can be a bit of a wait when putting in your order. She is very nice and is the family's daughter. The mother and father are the cooks. No frills hole in the wall kinda place. Good place to take your time and relax while eating unbothered. Food was good and sauces are self serve which is nice. Good size portions too.

I've been eating here since about 2004. The menu price has changed by about $1-$1.50 per item but one thing remains constant: the great tasting food. Everything is cooked fresh to order but in a manner which stays true to their name-- express and speedy! My favorite items on the menu include the obento, momoyaki with rice (also tastes great with noodles), pan fried gyoza, chicken yakitori, tofu yakitori, and the pork tonkatsu. Most of the entrees come with a side of rice and a side salad which consists of a mix of iceberg lettuce/carrots/cabbage with a sweet ginger sauce on top. You are allowed

Favorite Asian take-out restaurant in Wichita! This little mom-and-pop restaurants is my go-to for Japanese comfort food. The service is fast and friendly (if you forgive the cashier for being overextended in her job) and the quality of food never fails. Their portions are mighty and come packed with flavor.
My favorites:
Chicken Kastudon on top of eggs and veggies with rice on the side: fried chicken on top of sauteed veggies and scrambled eggs.
Unagi kabayaki: Grilled teriyaki eel (the ever-famous "eel sauce" people love) on a bed of rice with pickled ginger and egg roll on the side

Picture menu allows you to see exactly what your getting. Chicken teriyaki and mini crab rangoons are great.

This was a hidden gem and yelp helped us find it. Close to authentic and family ran. I had the teriyaki chicken with rice. It was the smaller size and just the right amount. Not too much and not too little. I had the green onion pancakes. Yum. My daughter had the sushi. The sushi roll was huge and great taste.

Ordered the tonkatsu and meat buns. Both were really good and the tonkatsu portion was really generous compared to other places I've been.

I have been coming here since beginning college. And that has almost been a decade ago.

My go to here is the steamed dumplings, obento, and the tasty meat buns. The serving size is large and will get you full.

The service remains as splendid as ever.

I haven't been here in forever and I finally got the chance to come here before heading back home.

Ordered the Obento box and gyoza. Food came out in a timely manner and everything was hot and steamy.

Definitely my favorite in Wichita. The PORK pan fried dumplings, everyday forever I’d be happy! The spicy sauce for dipping, yum! So savory and soft, perfect cook. The crab ragoons, are my favorite crab ragoons ever because they use real green onion and it makes them amazing, along with the thin wrap for awesome crunch, creamy amazingness. I’m pretty sure it’s all handmade. And the taste shows. The egg rolls are great too!! The rice is amazing, I could eat it alone. I often will get a side of rice with the sausage mix on top- YUM! Love this place! Good service and tasty food! A tiny bit expensive if you're on a low budget but I still say it's worth it!

One of my very favorite places to eat in Wichita. I've been a frequent visitor for over 15 years and it's always consistent, fast, and delicious. Students who show their student ID are given a side of hot and sour soup on the house. I've never had a dish I didn't like here. My favorites include the obento, yakiudon, pan fried dumplings, green onion pancake, tonkatsu, and chicken teriyaki.

I've never in my life had better crab Rangoons...these had flavor! Not just sugary, like a lot of others. The rice was so much better than anywhere I've ever eaten it. And it was just rice, not fried, but yum! It was all just too incredible.

Don't come here if you're looking for sushi because there is none (well, they do have California rolls). If you're looking for other Japanese dishes (e.g. Tonkatsu, ramen, gyoza), this is the place to be at!

Talk about consistency!! Back to this shop after 20 yrs. Moved out of Wichita for this long now. Trying to find a familiar taste in town just for the night~ My my~ everything is where it used to be and how it should be! This could be a bad thing, however, for a family-owned restaurant, all the taste into the food is something outstanding!!

Miss the teriyaki sauce for the longest time. Never tasted anything close to this. Chicken is done right. Not over-cooked so it's dry. Just the right amount of crisp so it is crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside. Sauce!! Man, how do they keep
