Services
Our goal is always to help our patients maintain their oral health and to care for and protect their natural teeth. Comprehensive examinations of the mouth, teeth, surrounding gum tissues, and supporting bone structures help with early detection and treatment of problematic conditions. Maintaining oral health includes good home care and regular visits to our office for preventive care, such as oral examinations, x-rays, and cleanings.
During a New Patien Exam, we are evaluating your head, neck, face, gums, tissues, tongue, airway, and teeth. The dental examination is a diagnostic evaluation of a patient's overall oral health and hygiene and involves looking and feeling around the cheeks, gums, tongue, throat, under the jaw, and the sides of the neck, as well as the teeth.
Dental x-rays are valuable diagnostic tools that allow us to safely and effectively evaluate the health of the jaw bones, tooth roots, and contact areas where the teeth touch each other--all areas we cannot observe directly with our eyes. We search for hidden dental diseases such as cavities, gum and bone disease, abscesses, cysts, and tumors.
We prescribe the appropriate type and frequency of hygiene therapy based on your individualized needs, considering your gum and bone health, risk for cavities, medical history, dry mouth, and more. During a dental cleaning (oral prophylaxis), we use specialized instruments to remove biofilm, plaque, calculus ("tarter"), food debris, and harmful bacteria from your teeth.
The back teeth (molars and bicuspids) have pits and grooves that are prone to decay. Sealants are a proven method to help protect these teeth and prevent decay. Applying sealants is a simple procedure and is strongly recommended for children as they develop their adult teeth, helping to keep these teeth healthy for the rest of their lives.

I needed a new crown after having a root canal. Dr. Pitmon got me into his office to make a crown in about two weeks. It took about two and one half hours to do the whole job without any pain and resulting in a perfectly fit crown. The computer CAD machine he uses is the state of the art and truly amazing. I wouldn’t think twice to recommending anyone to get dental work done at Alpine Family Dental.

I took my 8 year old daughter for sealants and a filling. She was nervous, of course. The care and humor with which Dr. Pitman and Kathy operated was wonderful! He honored her fears, answered her questions, involved her in the process, and kept us all smiling. So happy to have found a new dentist. As a bonus, on my way out I learned he makes and sells his own honey, yum!

Have 3 kids that went here. One kid had two infected teeth and they were unable to remove them which was fine but then they referred him to an oral surgeon and said the oral surgeon would call us to schedule. Two weeks went by and I called the oral surgeon and they never received the referral from alpine. Okay fine, it happens. Then my other son missed an appointment with pneumonia and my daughter missed an appointment because my son was having a seizure. I received a letter in the mail saying if I missed another appointment I would be charged 70 to pay for the spot which is fair and I understand
