Services
We want your first visit to be a true quality experience and to provide you with information about your dental health, we will schedule your first visit with one of our doctors. At this visit you will have a complete examination and evaluation by the doctor as well as update your radiographs (x-rays).
Our front desk scheduling coordinator will schedule your first visit and ask for basic information as well as your insurance information. This will allow us to confirm insurance eligibility and benefits prior to your appointment. There will be new patient information to fill out as well as a health history.
A native of Michigan, Dr. Nawotka has lived and practiced dentistry in Vermont since 1989. He is a general dentist who provides dental care in all areas of dentistry.
During his professional career, he has provided care in private practice settings; was on extended active duty with the United States Army; spent several years on the medical staff at a large teaching hospital and was a faculty member at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.On a personal note he is retired from the Army with over thirty years of service in the Reserve system.

My daughter who attends UVM had an emergency and this was the only dentist she could find on short notice who took our insurance. She had a filling come out that was just done about two weeks prior to going back to school. She said it was the worst dental experience she ever had. She was not provided with adequate Novocain and was in pain for most of the procedure. The dentist told her she was being overly sensitive and that he couldn’t give her anything else. Tuesday July 20th, I had 3 fillings done on cavities that Dr. Nawotka discovered during his examination on the 16th of July. During the procedure, Dr. Nawotka had a hard time getting I numb with anesthesia, and when I requested he stop for a moment because it was painful, Dr. Nawotka told him to just relax and it wouldn’t hurt, and to stop moving, while making frustrated sighs towards I (who was clearly in pain). This office charged much more than the insurance company claimed I was supposed to pay. After calling them repeatedly to request a refund of the excess charges, they have come up with every excuse possible as to why they will not return the excess charges. I have had to file a report with the insurance company and am awaiting results. I don’t expect much.
If you need more than a free service, avoid this place at all costs. Almost all employees have left this place. The only hygienists they have now are right out if college. That says a lot about the place. They have definitely lost my business

If your looking for a great dentist look no further. Champlain Dental is professional and I believe the best dentist(s) anywhere. Dr Boyd is an incredibly knowledgeable person and a very detailed dentist. He has the ability to be the nicest person you’re going to meet too. I hope you give Champlain Dental a try if you are looking for a dentist.

Been using this dentist for almost 30yrs! They have always done an exceptional job even with my insurance being Medicaid. They've written off the costs of numerous procedures and even allowed me to pay what state insurance would out of pocket when I had no insurance. They've remained positive and been very nice and friendly every single time I've called or gone in for almost 30yrs. I love my dentist and would recommend him highly to anybody. Both of the dentists here have worked on my mouth so happy I found them!
