A wind mitigation inspection is an inspection of the covering areas of a structure that help protect it from hurricane force winds. If these protective features are properly installed, your home can qualify for wind and or windstorm credits with any Florida homeowner's insurance company. This can mean a substantial savings of $300 to $500 a year for homeowners.
A 4 Point Inspection is one that is carried out to satisfy the insurance requirements when a homeowner Is purchasing a home, renewing their existing policy, or shopping for a new policy. These 4 main features are the most common areas that result in insurance claims. An insurance company wants to make sure they do not insure a home that has existing damage.
Mobile homes receive the same inspection as a standard home inspection. However, with mobile homes we also examine the undercarriage, vapor barrier and the tie downs. These items are very important to inspect because of the high level of moisture and threat of hurricanes in Florida. Vapor barriers help reduce the moisture that can seep through the floor from the ground beneath.

I just moved to Florida to purchase my retirement home and needed to get a home inspection done. Not familiar with any local vendors, I asked several people for a referral - they all mention Karl Laswell. I was impressed with him from our first conversation. It was a pleasure to have Karl as our home inspector. AMAZING!! We have had many home inspections but never as thorough as Karl. We are from Illinois and moving to Florida, Karl has done an EXCEPTIONAL job providing us with a detailed 88 page report with pictures!! I was very impressed with how well Karl did the home inspection on a mobile home that I was interested in. He did a very detailed 70 page report with lots of pictures. Karl was very professional and showed up on time. He always returned my phone calls. Out of the 10 people, I called for home inspections he was very reasonable priced and plus did a termite inspection.
