He encouraged him to continue his education, but also have a trade to full back on, just in case. A few weeks later, while watching television, he came across a commercial for HVAC training and decided it was a great combination for him; mechanical and also engineering. Three years later he started a four-year degree program where he received a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering.
After working for a few large engineering groups and also HVAC companies, Craig decided it was time to start his own heating and air conditioning business in 2009. Like so many American startups, True Mechanical Heating and Cooling started in a basement. The only money the company had was a credit card with a limit of $3,500.

WARNING... Do not use True Mechanical for any type of service. They are very unprofessional, and the owner runs his business like a street hustle. Most of the work is of poor quality. Their technicians have filed complaints for not getting paid, and that's why they can't keep good people working for them. True Mechanical gives a bad name to all the other black-owned businesses that are out here trying to put forth excellence.

This company was sent out by 2-10 home warranty... first.. I never got a call to schedule so two days after I submitted a request I called them.. and simply stated I put in a request for service and havent been called for an appointment... Denita expressed "did I call you?" With a terrible tone.. I shouldve know then but I gave her the benefit of the doubt... so I scheduled which appts were not available until the next week so I booked.. she said she would call the day before for ETA.. guess what NO call the day before.. I called her late the day before she said she'd call back no return call.

Unfortunately, my experience has not been a good one with True Mechanical. In the beginning it was fine but then it quickly turned sour. There were several last minute cancellations. Sad part is my AC has not worked in over a week after Craig installed 2 new thermostats. Several emails and text were sent with no reply. The unprofessionalism coming from Denita is mind blowing. I wouldn't recommend True Mechanical Heating and Cooling to even an enemy!!!

I highly recommend True Mechanical for all AC HVAC. I was assigned to them by my home warranty company, which dropped the ball a couple of times, but the staff at True Mechanical went out of their way to make sure my AC was working in a timely manner (the first company assigned to me said the earliest they could come out was in 10 days.) Everyone at True Mechanical was pleasant, professional and didn’t try to up sell me anything (yes, even with a home warranty some companies try to do that.) They are the company I’ll use for anything not covered by my home warranty!
