Dr. Kurt Mackie is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln where he was a member of the men's gymnastics team. While competing, he achieved status as an NCAA All American gymnast. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Studies, Dr. Mackie entered the University Of Nebraska College Of Dentistry.
Holly is Dr. Mackie's dental hygienist. With more than 10 years of experience, Holly confidently performs dental cleanings and x-rays and offers oral hygiene instructions and education to her patients. Originally from the Boerne area, Holly earned her bachelor's degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

I walked in today without an appointment and was expecting to pay a lot of money and be belittled because I haven't been to the dentist in 20 years (and I didn't care because I was in pain and y'all would see me). Instead, y'all helped me right away and were so nice at the front desk. Then Dr. Mackie came in and made me feel very comfortable, fixed my pain, and put a plan together to fix my teeth.

I highly recommend Dr. Mackie and his team. I am a middle aged adult and have never been given such a thorough and informative dental exam. The hygienist and her assistant were kind and helpful and explained everything that was going on. Benay at the front desk was a Godsend - from booking my appointment to getting a handle on my paperwork and insurance. I am very happy to get my dental care from this practice !!!!

Dr. Mackie is the best dentist I have ever been too. I appreciate how he explains everything to where it makes total sense. Also, Katy the young lady who cleans my teeth is wonderful. She always give me advice on how to take better care of my teeth and does a wonderful job cleaning them. If I could give them more stars I would ☺️

DR. MACKIE IS AN EXCEPTIONAL DENTIST. The staff at Dr. Kurt Mackie Dentistry is well trained and efficient. I have had a full mouth restoration performed and the work was excellent, and artistic individually painted and shaded for the most realistic appearance. His method of restoration is without question the finest. Dr. Mackie responds to all urgent calls, and actually contacts his patients after even the smallest procedure to assure patient comfort. Dr. Mackie has responded to my urgent off hour requests promptly and kindly. He truly cares about all of his patients

Emergency help needed for a broken tooth and I couldn’t be more pleased!
Really the whole staff was incredible and it really ranks high on my list of dental experiences. I live in Galveston and, no joke, I’m seriously considering having my crown done here because they are all that.

Simply the Best! This was my first visit with Dr. Mackie and I was very impressed. Deeply appreciate that he took the time to explain his observations, pointing out evidence of how my teeth and mouth are functioning and options for correction and improvement. I’m so very happy that I got to keep my front teeth and that I can be fitted for a mouth guard to stem the nighttime punishment my teeth grinding causes. Dr. Mackie seems passionate about dentistry and helping people achieve better oral health. Came away feeling hopeful. Thank you, Dr. Mackie.

For many years I have had insecurities about my teeth that I was not sure I would be able to correct. Dr. Mackie took his and explained to me the process of receiving porcelain veneers / crowns and together we chose the shape and shade that was best fit for me. Every step of the process was well planned out and the end result is more than I could have ever imagined.
My expectations were far exceeded and I could not be happier with my new smile!

Too bad there is no "0" star rating. He and his office staff are horrible!
I am on a tight budget and have dental insurance. I called the office prior to making the appointment to find out if they took my insurance I told the office staff that i did not want to pay for anything not covered by my insurance so they agreed to call my insurance carrier. They did so and confirmed there was coverage. Based on this information, I made an appointment for a regular teeth cleaning.
On the day of my appointment, I had a subsequent discussion about coverage and payments with the office staff.

What an awesome experience! The office was beautifully decorated, each room with state of the art equipment, and the staff was so friendly.
Not your typical dentist where you get put in a room and the dentist runs from room to room. Here you are treated like VIP. The Dr takes time to explain every little thing and your treatment plans.
I would highly recommend if you are looking for a dentist to help with any issue to start and finish here.
