Dr. Becker has advanced training in occlusion and complex restorative dentistry from leading post-graduate institutions. Dr. Becker is a graduate of Northwestern University Dental School. He regularly participates in continuing education seminars at over three times the rate mandated by the Illinois Board of Dentistry.
Dr. Becker began his career serving his country as a dental officer in the United States Navy, serving a total of 23 years in active and reserve duty. He then went into private practice here in Hoffman Estates. At that time, he decided to pursue advanced training in complex restorative dentistry, completing a 5-year curriculum with the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education.

Dr. Becker discovered his passion for helping people at an early age while watching his father, a U.S. Navy dentist, help his patients achieve a lifetime of good oral health. Dr. Becker's goals are to provide optimum dental care, teach patients how to take care of their mouths, and minimize dental problems and the cost of care.
Leah is your first point of contact with our practice. She has been an office manager and administrator for over nine years. Her favorite part of the job is the relationships she establishes with patients. She works diligently to ensure our patients are comfortable. She continues to work with patients after they leave to ensure they receive any needed follow-up care.
During your first visit to Poplar Crossing Dental, our priorities are to make you feel welcome and comfortable and to assess your oral health through a comprehensive 1 hour examination. She will escort you on a tour of our office so you can see our relaxing environment and the advanced technology we use to diagnose, treat, and prevent oral health issues.
At Poplar Crossing Dental, our goal is to help you receive high-quality dental care while staying within your budget. We accept a variety of forms of payment. Financing - Payment plans and financing are available. We participate in Lending Club, which offers no-interest payment plans for qualifying applicants.
After previous bad dental experiences, Kathy disliked everything about dentistry. But she also disliked her teeth and tried to hide them when she smiled. She asked Dr. Becker for a presentable smile and a healthy mouth. After taking photographs and digital x-rays of Kathy's teeth, Dr. Becker showed her models of potential new smiles so she could provide input in the design process.

Dr William Becker DDS / orthodontist.. has a beautiful office with the latest and the greatest equipment. I first noticed the staff had a large turnover. I really connected with a couple of ladies and then they were gone. Then a couple more left. Odd.... I really liked the original staff that he had when I started. Every time I had a visit I was told I needed more work. He said I absolutely needed to replace my crowns. So I did. That was thousands. He tried very hard to convince me to do cosmetic work. He actually bullied me. I finally told him in no uncertain terms it was not going to happen

This is the dentist I use to attend to as a teenager. At first, they were nice. He and his staff asked questions about my school, hobbies, etc. Basically, they made a nervous teenager comfortable. But after a while, I noticed the staff and Dr. Becker became increasingly passive aggressive and rude. When I was getting work done on my teeth, I didn't feel he was patient or empathetic with me. I didn't enjoy going here after a year or so. That's why I don't go back. We were also informed that our dental plan was accepted, only later being informed it was not accepted, leaving us

Great experience! Was treated like family. Dr. Johnson was so good and patient and really knew what he was doing. The staff was friendly and helpful. Jean was great and explained to me proper oral hygiene techniques. I feel like I am in good hands at Poplar Crossing Dental Center and will come back for my future dental needs.

I recently switched dentists after my dentist for the past 25 years retired. My former dentist had become a family friend, so I was a bit nervous to see a new dentist but Dr. Johnson and his staff were incredible. Everyone in the office was friendly and inviting. The hygienist was SO thorough and removed all of the stains on my teeth. I truly felt as if I had gone in for a whitening treatment and not just a cleaning. Dr. Johnson was just as thorough and actually spotted a chip on my tooth that was filled (cavity) by my previous dentist and was able to file that down. I booked my next appointment

I went to his office when I was 23 looking to get braces. Before he actually put braces on me he made me spend thousands and a year on a lot of cavity fillings which i might not have needed. He made me remove 8 teeth and then he told me i would need implants to make my teeth look natural which i opted not to because it didn't make sense since he removed so many teeth. when he wanted to take my braces out an actual specialist told me i still needed more time. I got very upset because because he charged me almost $8000 on braces alone, about $4000 on removing teeth, and a few more thousands
