Unlike many small law firms, the focus of Schwartzberg Law is on family law issues and the related areas of estate planning and mediation services. Our focus reflects our passion: We want to help our clients navigate difficult life transitions and decisions. We started our firm over 33 years ago with this commitment to our clients' future.
Ora Schwartzberg has been practicing law since 1985 and has also been a mediation practitioner for over fifteen years. She is a graduate of Vermont Law School. Prior to that, she received a Master's Degree in counseling from SUNY, Plattsburgh (New York), and an undergraduate degree in education from Temple University in Philadelphia.
John Katsirebas has been practicing law since 2010 and received his JD from the Massachusetts School of Law in Andover Massachusetts. John received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Keene State College after serving as a non-commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps. Before becoming an attorney, John served as a law enforcement officer in Keene, NH, Loudon NH, and Waterville Valley, NH.

In many states' family law proceedings, the courts presume that any assets acquired while you were married are jointly owned. However, New Hampshire's definition of marital property also includes previously owned assets and inheritances. All property in which either party has an interest, including inherited property and property owned prior to marriage, is considered to be marital property.
