Frederick Health Liberty

Over the last 25 years, Frederick County's population has grown by nearly 40 percent, representing an increase of an estimated 95,000 people. Frederick Health also includes a network of providers offering primary care, family medicine and a wide range of specialty services in the form of the Frederick Health Medical Group.

Masking, frequent hand hygiene, and social distancing of 6 feet are required at all times. Frederick Health Medical Group/Urgent Care/Outpatient Settings: One (1) support person if needed to assist patient during visit/appointment. Masking will remain required among patients, staff, and visitors in all public areas of the hospital; specifically, in any area where patient/visitor interaction is/can be reasonably anticipated.

Service to the hospital began immediately with the first volunteers helping out in the Record Room and quickly expanding to other departments. By 1955, the Frederick Health Auxiliary was the largest women's organization in Frederick County. Candy Stripers, now known as Junior Volunteers, joined the organization's ranks in 1967.

More than a century ago, Emma Smith's vision and the generosity of the Frederick community led to Frederick Health being built on a solid foundation of philanthropy. Today, this tradition continues with philanthropy still playing a vital role in the hospital's ability to meet the ever changing healthcare needs of our community.
