In 1967, Laicon, Inc. was incorporated in Illinois as an environmental consulting firm initially intended to provide industrial wastewater environmental consulting services for metal finishers and heavy industries within Cook County.
This wasn't by chance since at that time the then Metropolitan Sanitary District (MSD) - now called Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) - was one of the first sanitary districts within the United States to promulgate an industrial wastewater discharge ordinance.It 1969, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) retained Laicon, Inc. (Laicon) to assist them in complying with the MWRD's new ordinance requirements.
