Prior to becoming a Defense Attorney, I worked for the Office of the Attorney General, State of California and the Sacramento County Public Defender's Office.
It can take several months for the District Attorney to file the charges against you, especially in cases involving a blood test. In alcohol-related cases it's really important that you or your attorney contact DMV Safety within ten (10) days of the arrest to request an APS hearing, discovery and a "Stay" (putting off) the suspension pending a hearing.

I contacted Mr. Hougnon in reference to a legal concern, that I was not very well-versed in. He took the time to assess my needs, and then explained how to go about addressing it on my own without charging me for his time. He even offered more advice on how to safeguard against future issues, in terms of how I document transactions to avoid misunderstandings that could unknowingly create liability.in the future. If I could rate NO STARS I would. Joe is a fraud. He lied to me and said he could get my charges dropped. He took my $1,000 check and cashed it - then told me he couldn't help me. Then he wrote me a NASTY, RUDE letter on top of it! If you want to throw your money away and get raked over the coals afterward, hire him....!
