Tomlin Academy is an early education center that uses advanced teaching methods to prepare students for highly successful academic careers. This is why many of the scholars who have attended Tomlin Academy have been reported by their teachers to be reading at a 1st or 2nd grade level upon entering Kindergarten.

Services
Shantelle Tomlin's passion for teaching and learning began at an early age during her tenure at the Children's Home in Wichita, Kansas. She knew at an early age that she wanted to work with children; specifically, underprivileged children. Upon earning her B.A. in Secondary Education and her B.A. in English from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, she started substituting in the inner city.
In general, if your child is too sick to go outside and play, then your child is too sick to attend childcare. This preschool is a well child family facility. This means that if your child is not feeling well, for any reason, you will need to find alternate care. If your child becomes ill during daycare, you will be phoned at work and asked to pick your child up immediately.

Tomlin academy sets a idea of what they want to be to parents. They in no way hold that standard. At first glance and when no problem arise Miss Tomlin presents herself very well and holds herself to a great standard but does no hire or is unable to keep employees that are at the same standard as herself. Extremely unprofessional in aspect of when a parent has a concern. Does not take children being sick serious at all and seem to just care about money, as stated to parents one week "I need payment, today is pay day and tuition is how I pay my employees" as if a parent doesn't know

Both of my potty trained children peed themselves due to lack of attention. On another occasion my children told me they did not get a drink all day and were so thirsty. I have taken them out of daycare and requested my deposit back and was told it was in the contract I signed that I cannot have the deposit back without two weeks notice. I asked for the copy of my signed contract to confirm and was polite about My inquiry. I was told last week I would be sent my signed contract and this week I am now receiving no response from miss Tomlin at all. If you need quick cheap care they will accept you

My daughter attended Tomlin Academy from 2 y.o. until kindergarten. I couldn't be happier with the education provided to her there. By time she went to elementary school she was reading! Counting in spanish and more. Even now being in 1st grade she talks how she misses the school and Ms. Tomlin. My daughter was nervous her first day of kindergarten. Ms Tomlin gave her a surprise visit a lunch to ease her nerves. Thats someone who truly cares about her scholars. I can't wait to send my son here.

The atmosphere is incredibly unprofessional, and the founder, Miss Tomlin, is too busy to care if teacher needs are met. I worked there for a very short amount of time and in that whole time I had no training, in addition to teacher/kid ratios always being off, and not being given the opportunity to do what I was hired to do. They also accept kids who are obviously sick so they infect other kids and the teachers.

When people ask me about childcare/early education providers, I always recommend Tomlin Academy. Children are introduced to multi-cultural educational experiences and are provided a safe, caring, and loving environment. I was pleasantly surprised to see how hands-on the owner is in the planning, development, and execution of the learning experience and in each child's well-being.

I have worked at Tomlin almost 1 month so I think I have a pretty good feel of the staff and children and parents and I can honestly say it is great to be a part of the Tomlin Academy family. Ms. Tomlin is very diligent and intentional about how she tends to the children and their needs. I love my babies here! So sweet and parents all so friendly. I enjoy the environment and working with a staff that is very team oriented.

I love this place the staff is amazing, the facility is very clean and they are truly for the children. Tomlin Academy believes in well preparing the children for the next level of education and not just babysitting them. The teachers will cater to your child's specific needs and provide a safe and healthy environment for your children. If you haven't already, I would highly recommend that you call and schedule a tour as soon as possible so you can experience this amazing atmosphere for yourself!

Tomlin academy is by far the most amazing center I've ever enrolled my children into!! Amazing staff and amazing curriculum. If you are looking for child care you will be pleased with their love for every child and professionalism. My children couldn't wait to get to school, if their happy I'm even more happy.
