My stepmother, daughter, and I were all extremely impressed when my dad died with the compassion and professionalism of Chuck Bartel, the manager of Diuguid on Wiggington Road. He went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests and suggestions, and was able to help us think through hard decisions during this time of Virginia's lock-down.
Just had to let you and your staff know how much we appreciate all the planning and work that went into giving our Veterans such a wonderful Saturday afternoon. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the fellowship with so many interesting people. It was nice to have good "LIVE" music on top of everything else.

We hope to provide support and caring while delivering memorial services that celebrate life and help families find the peace they deserve.
Diuguid Funeral Service and Crematory is the second oldest funeral home in the United States and the oldest in Virginia. Our story began in 1817 when Samspon Diuguid of Appomattox married Martha Patterson thirty-one years after the beginning of Lynchburg and moved to the town to start a hand-carved furniture business.
We are thrilled to announce the highly-anticipated renovation of our Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory location at Timberlake Rd. We are always thinking of ways we can better serve our Lynchburg community and these renovations will help us provide the very best experience for all families we serve - with new, modern amenities for gatherings, a dedicated space for catering, a family cafe, larger restrooms, and so much more.

Have used Diguid for decades in our family. Never again.
1. Requested my fathers thumbprint as part of the additional services offered. I had to call and ask where they were in the process. He had been cremated. They forgot and “all they could do was say they were sorry.”
2. He passed on 1/25. On 2/9 we received an email saying we were “way past due” on our payment. (Not to mention the $95 fee was STILL on the bill)

My review....and I did not anticipate listing all of this but no response to my email after my initial phone call discussing the services. We used Diuguid's because it was a family tradition. My mother was called the wrong name twice in the service, once Linda and once Mrs. Reynolds. Her name was Jeanne Pugh Ramsey. I asked for two special requests to be included in her service they did not have the request accurate. Oh, and my thank you notes were for Jeanne Pugh Hudson that I received. Then no one brought the register so we had return to the funeral home to pick it up. The second longest living

Diuguid Funeral service is by far the most friendly, outgoing and professional funeral service in the Lynchburg Va area. They have been consistently in service over 200 years, and the original Mr. Diuguid invented the casket carriers a version of which every funeral home world wide now uses today. The current manager, Chuck Bartel has been in the business 28 years and still truly cares about each and every family they serve. My family and I would never go anywhere else for our funeral service needs, nor do we recommend any other to our friends who are in need of funeral services. You absolutely

We are often caught by surprise in needing a funeral home and all the help that they can give. We have been very pleased with all that Duiguid's has done to make the whole process of putting a loved one to rest a good one. Charles Bartel has offered suggestions, made last minute changes, and gave us encouragement, all with good grace at our most trying time.
