My family and I went a few times and the staff is lovely and the chips are complementary when you sit. It's the small things but they were delicious and the staff is quick to refill your cup of water. The good never takes long and the presentation is very nice. 11/10

I got the fish tacos for pick-up. It was a pretty typical platter of rice, beans, and main. They do give you chips and salsa with any order. However, that was my minus one star because although included they were not good. I love chips and salsa but the chips were very stale and salsa watery. The main dish was good. I like the relish veg they put in the tacos.

My friends and I chose this restaurant for a late dinner to honor a friend who was leaving. We were blown away by the food and the atmosphere. From the appetizers to the desserts, everything was delicious.

The food here was eh! Tacos were soggy with pico that was wayyyyy too spicy. They also cram the beans and rice onto the same plate, which for me was bad because I don’t like beans and I had to use my fork to scrape them away. Their churros are also dry with no cinnamon or dipping sauce! The only reason this place is having two stars is because my dessert was actually decent!

The service was good but my huevos rancheros were really bad. The egg yolks were hard on both fried eggs and they were in tortilla shells instead of flat, which is just my preference maybe some people wouldn't care. But the hard yolks were inexcusable. Everyone else seemed ok with their food, no raves but no complaints. It is a byob & the prices are ok, so maybe I should give it 3. But they were the worst huevos rancheros I ve ever had.

Ordered food for delivery and I remember the food being much better. It was good but not great. Food was delivered and I was not contacted when it was delivered and it was left by my door with the commitment of a text which never happened. Shrimp was overcooked and food was barely warm. A bit too expensive for just good not great food!

I've already reviewed but ITS SO GOOOOOD. Been coming here since I was like 5. I lived on the west coast for 14 years (including LA and Phoenix, Mexican food hot spots) and dreamt of this place often - finally moved back this way and am within driving distance again!!!!

If you are in the New Providence area and looking for Mexican food, drive to Chipotle. Then drive right on past and head to Jose's. I've been to Mexico a number of times; love Mexican food. Jose's is the real deal fresh from scratch authentic Mexican food. Delicious. And the folks in the restaurant are really friendly.

Order correctly executed. Fajitas used to be stripped of chicken w onions and peppers..now it is shreds of chicken. The refried beans are like a soup. The wrappers are not house made but store bought and uninteresting. Nachos are soggy. Rice, beans and soup no longer offered w all dinners. There are better Mexican cuisine venues.

This is a great neighborhood Mexican restaurant. We went on Cinco de Mayo so they were super busy. The service was great, including filling three baskets of chips before our meal came. The food was very tasty and fresh. Insider tip: the restaurant is BYO but there is a liquor store next door that sells plenty of different Mexican beers.

I would say it's ok at best! It's not great Mexican but it's ok Mexican. We have struggled to find a GREAT Mexican restaurant since moving to this area. It was 90 degrees out & it was super warm inside the restaurant. I had to ask if the air conditioning was working. He said yes but I still doubt it. Also, they had the TV on & tuned to Ultimate Fighting Wrestling. We were looking directly at the TV. My young daughter could not stop staring at it & it was disturbing. I asked them to change the channel & I was just stared at. They did not change it. The service was

Good mole sauce and tamales, free chips and salsa, friendly service and reasonable prices, I'm a fan of this little BYO Mexican place! Serves all the usuals like burritos enchiladas tacos plus many seafood plates; four-item combo dinners are $17.50.

Visited on a quiet weekday evening. Chips seem house-made and needed a little salt, the salsa was mild. Checked in on yelp to get free nachos which are just chips cheese and jalapeños, very simple. I'm a huge fan of the chili chocolate sauce called mole, few places make it, happy to try theirs over pork enchiladas with rice and beans, extremely

The atmosphere is great. It’s a byob and the liquor store is right next door. So it’s easier. However the service was too slow. I had to wait a lot of time... a lot.

I've been there a few times for dinner. The service is excellent and the waiters are thoughtful. However, the food quality (burritos, enchiladas, tacos from what I've had) are unimpressive. The rice, too, is just kind of meh. It would be a 5 star place if they toned down their prices to match the OK quality.

Free nachos!!! That were delicious! The enchiladas were great and very nice service. Next time I'm bringing alcohol and putting it in their non alcoholic margs (byob)!

This place is the only restaurant north of Texas and East of St Louis that can make a proper Ranchero style plate of cheese enchiladas. The decor depicts scenes that are evocative of the 6 months I spent living in Mexico City and the village of San Miguel. The owners and staff are conscientious, sincere and helpful. The ambience is casual and relaxed. I highly recommend this place to anyone in NJ looking for Mexican food. The beans have flavor. Nothing here is poured out of a can.

FOOD POISONING: I ordered the mole enchiladas, and although they were really good, apparently it wasn't clean. I contracted food poisoning and was sick for several days. I hate to give this review, but food poisoning and restaurant cleanliness is very serious, and should not be taken lightly.

A Mexican disaster... Thursday night; seven of us; maybe 25-30 in the restaurant this evening; one waiter; can carry only two things at a time from kitchen or clearing; food tepid (from ice cold plate) or burnt since he could not keep up; he tried hard though. Dear owner, sell or run the place, poleeze. Go to next door to Chipotle. At least you get what you pay for. It is a BYOB. Bring lots just to get through it.

Tortilla chips are thick and crunchy, not crisp. They're tasty. The salsa is a bit watery and thin but tastes OK. When I arrived staff was watching futbol on TV and it remained on for abt 15 mins of my visit. After that music was played and the have was on mute.

The service was great. The ambiance and decor is great. The food was tasty. My only negative was that the pico de Gallo had more peppers and onions than tomatoes and cilantro. It wasn't a good balance.

Dismal - just picked up take out from Jose's for the 1st time in many years.
Everything we ordered was way too salty. The pepper in the Chile Relleno measured 1" square (see image). This was more than disappointing - a very poor value. Lesson learned.
