We are a full-service small animal clinic, offering compassionate, professional care for your cherished pets. We are also proud to be in association with veterinarian Dr. LuJean Waters for all your large/food animal and equine needs. Our clinic was founded in 1974 by Dr. N.L. Black, a Fort Meade native.
In 2010, Fort Meade Animal Clinic was purchased by our veterinarian Dr. Lori J. Shank. At Fort Meade Animal Clinic, we will strive to not simply meet expectations, but exceed them through integrity, compassion, respect and appreciation for our clients, our staff and our community. We feature digital x-ray and expanded in-house laboratory services which makes diagnostics quick and convenient.

I took my 11 year old Shih Tzu to Dr Lorie expecting to have put her to sleep as she hadn’t eaten for Several days just drinking water. I dropped my fur baby off not knowing if we were going to find out. She took all kinds of blood work and X-rays also sent them to be read by another radiologist to recheck them she said she has a bacteria… infection she decided to keep her overnight to treat her with heavy doses of medications. They started force feeding her Dr Lois called me every step of the way. To make a long story short with out DrLolie and her staff my girl Shelby would not be

I love Fort Meade Animal Clinic. Everyone there has always treated my fur-babies like their own. They are always very personalable and caring. When we had to put my Beagle Carmin down, they were so kind and thoughtful of my feelings. They gave me privacy and and time alone with her first. And they were so gentle with her. It really meant the world to me, and made the whole process a little less painless. I will never forget that! I still have one Beagle and two cats and know they are always in good hands with anyone there.

By far the best vet experience I have ever received and it's not even close to my house. We travel 20 more minutes to get here than we would my local vet. My dog had an emergency C-section here a couple weeks back and I couldn't be more happy with her care. They cleared all there appointments for a few hours for us, and we even got hands on experience with the puppies. They weren't awfully expensive either. The staff were very down to earth and super helpful and welcoming. Would recommend

Love this place!! They have helped me with all my animals. Dr. Shank is amazing :-) Everyone there is nice and kind and are there to help whenever you need them. When I had to put my Abby down they sent me a nice card and a clay outline of her paw print. When my Ashley developed a lump on her next they were able to remove it with minimal recovery time. And now since I have found two kittens they have been my go to for shots and checkups :-)
