Essentials PetCare Walk-In Veterinary Clinic
Have your pet examined for several common illnesses, including minor ear, skin, eye, urinary, limping or GI issues. We offer same-day bloodwork, testing for heartworm and feline leukemia, and comprehensive reference labwork. Staff was helpful and thorough. Clinic was clean. Prices are very reasonable.

Be aware of the opening and closing hours and availability of the veterinarian for certain services. Very pleased with the service received. This place is affordable, fast, and convenient! Took my Great Pyrenees here for shots and hw prevention. They treated her as if she was their own pet and Dr. Cole even showed me pictures of her adorable pup.
Services
Enjoy the convenience of your local walk-in healthcare clinic, but for pets. We offer routine care, including vaccinations and lab testing, in a convenient veterinary location at a Walmart near you. We also treat minor illnesses to make your pet feel better. Although we don't treat major health issues, our preventive care helps to avoid more serious problems.
The mission of Essentials PetCare is to improve the lives of pets and their families by providing affordable, accessible, high-quality veterinary care. Essentials PetCare emphasizes affordability and efficiency, in a convenient clinic near you-currently inside Walmart! This allows all pet owners to seek care that not only protects the health of cherished pets, but also serves to protect public health.
Dr. Doug Spiker is a co-founder and President of Essentials PetCare. Our team knows him as our Intrepid Mastermind - the creator of our movement to expand veterinary care. Dr. Spiker is a small animal veterinarian, who realized the significant need for making basic pet care both affordable and accessible to all families after practicing for several years as a co-owner of a walk-in veterinary hospital.
Enjoy bundled service savings, no hidden fees, and a doctor's exam with vaccine & minor illness packages (unless noted). We offer tiered packages so you can select the best fit for your pet. All vaccine packages include a doctor's exam and prescriptions for preventative medication (unless noted otherwise).
One fall afternoon we decided to go for a bike ride through a rural Florida park in our hometown. We had just started riding to the bike trail and spotted an animal. At first it was not a surprise; these particular woods were well known for wild pigs, coyotes and bobcats. Upon second glance, we realized it was a tiny puppy.

PET ESSENTIALS PORT RICHEYDISCRIMINATES AGAINST SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN!!!
I rescued an abused dog from a backyard breeder and have a potential family for him but he needs his shots updated. This “owner”… (CHRISTINA BATTISTA PICTURE IN COMMENTS) refused to give this puppy any care because my SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN wouldn’t wear masks. I asked if I could do drop off like we did during Covid since apparently it’s still Covid right since we all need masks? NO. She REFUSED and was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE TO MY CHILDREN WHO I HOMESCHOOL DUE TO THEIR SPECIAL NEEDS

They require payment ahead of time, fine. It was documented in my account to call day before my visit to collect payment. I wrestled a German Shepherd and chihuahua in the car for my appointment only to be told it was cancelled because no one called for my payment. Don’t know about you, but my time is valuable. I was iffy after last visit anyway as the vet had zero personality. Looking for new vet now.

I usually love this place but it has been next to impossible to get an appointment or any kind of reply or call back.

For basic pet care, shots, worm testing, physical exam. They aren't a full service clinic, so there's only certain things you can go there for, but what it would cost at a regular full service Vet for shots, you pay less than half that at Essentials. The staff is great, they really care about the animals and are very friendly. I highly recommend them to anyone who has a pet.

Yesterday was my first time visiting and they were phenomenal! I called around several places and their prices could not be beat. $55 for 12 week dog shots and it included an exam. Most places charge you over $100. Everyone was super nice from the lady at the front desk to the vet to her assistant. I will definitely visit again. Very professional.
