Sumo Teppanyaki Express

*WARNING* Don’t spend your TIME or MONEY here. “THIS SUMO” restaurant DO NOT care about their customers at ALL. They are RUDE DISGUSTING DISRESPECTFUL & Really deserve to receive a 0 star. When first walking in I witnessed MANY ROACHES Crawling up the walls!! Also, when Receiving my food the order wasn’t correct. So, upon asking for a REFUND I was cursed at an told: “NOT TO EVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN”! *BEWARE*

I use to love this place I haven't been here in awhile because of my last 2 experience wasn't so great but I gave them another try just to be let down again I am so disappointed.

Don't waste your money here, I've had better sushi at a gas station in Oklahoma. Very small sushi rolls for price. The teriyaki chicken seemed like frozen chicken chunks heated up.

Excellent! good job guys, sweet potatoes tempura was amazing! Sushi is fresh and exquisite and sauces wow really good. I feel happy for discover this sushi restaurant near my house.

Sumo Teppanyaki is located next to Publix in Haines City. A friend a mine recommended it awhile ago and I finally got around to trying it.
The restaurant is currently only ordering takeout. In a non COVID world they might have had dine or delivery, but not currently.
You can call, walk in, or order your food online. I was next door at Publix so I just went in and ordered before shopping and then picked up my food.
I had the hibachi chicken with fried rice and vegetables. It is also served with a salad of lettuce, cucumbers, and ginger dressing. The cost of this meal was $10.15. I thought

Best Sushi Ever! I had never experienced deep fried sushi and oops! I fell in love!!! 😍
But it was okay- my boyfriend was busy falling in love with the hibachi Steak, shrimp and chicken dinner!! 😊
Great food and great prices- topped off with friendly service.
This place is conveniently located next to Publix in Haines city- don’t go shopping hungry- stop in and fill up on the best sushi ever!!

Feels like a hole-in-the-wall type of place and I got the food pretty fast. Ten minute wait. The price is fair and I enjoyed the meal.

Fast, friendly service. We were looking for a Japanese, or at least some sort of Oriental cuisine for dinner that night. We searched Google Maps and found that this little, quaint hibachi grill and sushi place was on our route back to our hotel. We stopped in here and were pleasantly surprised by how fast and affordable this place is to eat there. I will recommend for a quick bite, our carry it back to your place! It was very filling, hot the spot, AND we have some left for a snack again later!

Great sushi with great prices. Highly recommended. I order from sumo at least twice a week.

This is probably my favorite place in town if your going to splurge this is the place to do it they have super nice customer service very friendly grate delivery service and very good juicy perfectly cooked and don't forget the grate sushi but save room for your main course when I go it's too notch every time and they even help me decide the perfect meal .live love love this place !!!!!

Honestly it's a little hole in the wall in Haines City but I Love the sushi rolls. It's inexpensive and place always smells great when you walk in. Open every day except Mondays but they cook right in front of you there so you see everything they put on the hibachi Grill.

The prices on the board seemed very fair but when I actually got the food it seemed over priced the server told he her favorite roll was called the yum yum roll which was conveniently not on the menu and $14 a roll. I got he dragon roll,the volcano roll, and the gyoza. The total was $25 plus tip and honestly didn't seem worth it. It was ok but honestly not worth going back

I walked in and could tell ::something:: was wrong. The place looked like a dump. Trash all over two of the tables. The atmosphere was dark and dank. The kitchen area looked greasy and nasty.
I asked for my usual "honey teriyaki with beef" that I have not gotten in a few months. Turns out, new owners - no more of my favorite dish and a huge nosedive in sanitation.

Pretty solid sushi for a tiny hole in the wall, great prices, and the young lady who helps run the register/take orders too is super friendly!

This place used to be good but lately they've been gross. I ordered teriyaki chicken with fried rice and got plain chicken with zero seasoning with white rice with some soy sauce on it. When I opened the box in front of them before walking away and told them this isnt what i ordered. They told me it's how they make it. Absolutely rude and would never come here again. Do not try their sushi, the lady before me ordered a roll and they literally keep the "fresh salmon" wrapped in a publix grocery bag lol how disgusting!

Truly impressed. Decided to give this place a try today. I ordered takeout. The service was fast. Was there for around 10 minutes. They quality of the food is great. I got Hibachi steak with fried rice. It comes with salad. I added on a side order of noddles. Everything cause around $13. The steak was cooked perfectly. They give you a good proportion. Definitely will be back to try their sushi. This is a perfect alternative if you can’t afford Kobe’s and other high end Japanese steakhouses.

If you are looking for a very good sushi in Hainea City area I recommend you Sumo. I already been there twice and always really good quality and good price

Favorite Asian food place in Haines City! Food is always so delicious and prepared great and it's priced reasonably for the portions! Love the chicken teriyaki with fried rice, and they give you a ginger salad with it as well. Always reliable for those cravings :)

Good food and value! Had the chicken.bento box and you get a lot of food for just 9 bucks! The atmosphere is not high class by any means and it has limited seating available, but I'd still recommend it for the food and prices. Parking is easy because it's part of a strip mall. Good location close to Lake Eva Park.

I discovered this place last night and ordered take out. Friendly service, fresh ingredients, very generous portions, especially for the price and most importantly, GREAT flavors! Fortunately we got enough for left overs today and I still am amazed at how good their food tastes. Normally, I use a lot of soy sauce to add flavor, but this doesn't even need it. So glad they are here!

Great price point, very affordable with excellent customer service. Absolutely spectacular cleanliness with most importantly delicious cuisine. Will return.

Wow first day in Florida and this spot here bright my day so far. Very clean and quite and also I from California and I never thought there is a teppanyaki for Togo very happy with my lunch. The staff is very very friendly, will definitely come back here when I am in Town again.

The food was amazing I ordered chicken teriyaki w/ veg and rice. Also purchased shrimp teriyaki w/ noodles and vegetable. It was very good will go there again.

The chicken was rather dry & they forgot to give me my rice, even after I paid an extra dollar to upgrade to fried rice. Also, I called ahead & still had to wait almost 15 minutes for my food.
