We used to have Joey do my taxes for more than 5 years- he and Ian were great at first. Joey became terribly unresponsive and and unprofessional, e.g. emails rudely, doesn't return calls or texts, leaves you hanging. Worst of all, he filed the wrong tax figures which set me back ~$2k and didn't even apologize. Shameful!
Best to take your business elsewhere and save yourself much valuable time and resources.

DO NOT USE HIM! TERRIBLE! I can't say one nice thing here and I like to support local businesses. Just trust that if I could give negative stars I would. JUST AWFUL!!! I have no idea how this is still a valid business. Looking at the most recent reviews all 1 STAR I'm mad at myself for not looking sooner. GO anywhere else and save yourself time, money and a HUGE headache. Joey, shame on you!

This is my very first Yelp review, but we felt it is important to warn others about Joey's unprofessional and deceptive ways. Any Tax person who charges you a percentage is already a fraud, it's illegal according to the tax board. We started going to him from 2015 - 2017. We left him after that because the customer service was horrible, they never returned calls etc. Fast forward to this year, in January we received a letter from the Franchise Tax board saying we were being audited for the three years we had gone to Joey. Normally I do not write a lot and hardly ever do negative notes. After years going to Joey we stopped ....... we received letters for wrong/ misfile and we owe tax for 2014,2015, 2016 and 2017!!
Us and many of our friends and co-workers who we recommended to go to Joey all received letters for incorrectly claiming and/or needed provide proof.
The first year we sat and waited hours for our turn and go through with Joey to prepare the filing, but then second year they had us wait a long time while they took all our papers and worked on it, and all we had to do is to sign and pay. We did that for

I wish I could give ZERO stars. People might recommend Joey because he gets you a bigger tax return, but he WILL get you audited. We got audit notices and sent them to Joey and called and called and NO ANSWER for months. We were finally able to meet with him and he had nothing prepared and caused us to miss the deadline provided to us by the tax board. We turned in all the same receipts we provided to Joey to the tax board and they told us that we were not eligible for any of the deductions Joey told us we could get and since we missed the deadline, were not able to negotiate a discount. All you people beware..this person will do your tax and will be adding a lot of extra stuff that would make you get more..you know why because he will make you pay more base on your tax return..i paid around $800 for him to do my tax..my tax is not even complicated..im single and has one job..how complicated is that? This is the same story of all the negative reviews. Been with Joey going on 6 years and each year the customer service goes down. We are STILL waiting for a complete set of copies of our taxes. Been texting him each week asking for them and all we get is the run around. So makes me question why he doesn't want us to have a complete set of forms. When we dropped off our texts I left messages with Ian and with a female to have Joey call me back and no call from Joey. We didn't get our taxes back until August!! Really August!! This office has very poor customer service. Found out from IRS that they are under investigation. I'm currently working on my audit right now cause this tax preparer completely jacked up my taxes! Found out that what they are doing is illegal charging clients for tax preparation based on their refunds! That is completely fraudulent per IRS! So don't be surprised if you get audited cause IRS is really following his fraudulent activity!

I have been having them prepare our taxes for 3 years now. I sent Joey our W2s before the tax deadline and confirm that they have received them. A week after that I spoke to Ian and he said he will finalized everything that week and same email replied from Joey, but until now I haven't heard anything from them. I have been calling them, left messages and emailed them, but I still haven't heard anything from them. Don't use their service!!!

I promise you, this is the go-to-guy for preparing taxes! He's knowledgeable, skilled, professional and most importantly extremely caring.
He's so high in demand though so be very mindful of how busy he is (so by writing this review, I'm doing myself a disservice. Ha!) He works magic like I've never seen before and is busy helping as many people as possible.
Just make sure you make an appointment with him and give him all the documents and info he needs.
He has helped not just me with my taxes but also most of my family with theirs, and we all love him and his work!

We have a really bad experience here. We are facing to several tax problems now. I don't recommend them, they may add lies and you may be get into trouble. They lie and you will be in trouble! I worked with Joey many years ago and he was fantastic. When I reached out this year, I was elated to find out that he prepares taxes Nationwide. Being that I moved to Colorado a couple years ago, I was estatic to be able to work with him again.
They ended up filing an extension on my behalf. After that, I barely heard from Joey or Ian. After numerous attempts over several weeks, I finally heard back from Joey saying that he was going to e-file that evening and he asked for my payment information. I gave him the info and that was the last time I heard from him. The IRS has no record of my e-filed

He was right only because he added fraudulent itemized deductions which went undetected to me until after the IRS got a hold of me. He got me back an OBSCENE amount in income and state tax refunds and then charges you a giant tax preparation percentage fee directly related to what he can get you back in a refund. I went here last year and I had excellent service although this year was absolutely horrible. My parents and aunt and uncle are the people who recommended me this place but this year they also had an altercation with Joey as well. Last year my federal state was a little over $1000 (mind you I'm a nursing student and also a server) and he charged me… just a little over $200. Not bad right?
