Edisto, pronounced Ed-is-toe, is an island along the coast of South Carolina, surrounded by lush, ever-changing marshlands, fishing creeks, bays, and rivers. The South Edisto River (the longest black water river in the country), embraces the west side of Edisto Island and flows into the Atlantic Ocean beside Edisto Beach.
Once famed for sea island long-staple cotton, today Edisto Island is home to farmlands, plantations, and a thriving family oriented beach community. Off the beaten path, almost between Charleston and Beaufort on scenic U.S. Highway 17, South Carolina Highway 174 begins it's winding way through Spanish moss draped ancient oaks, passing antebellum plantations, well preserved churches, and rich farmland.

Services
During 1981, our company founder, Albert M. McCormack started a real estate practice on Edisto Island, commuting from his office and home in Charleston until 1984 when an island office was established for Sea Island Realty. The practice founded upon the principle of unfailing service to its clients and customers grew and expanded into much larger offices near Edisto Beach in 1987.
During our Company's 26+ years of service to our community we have been fortunate to have listed and sold more lender owned properties than any of our competitors. When the tax law (IRS code) was changed in 1986 to extend depreciation terms there was a flood of condominiums in both the national and local market.
Captain Francis Baker built this charming stucco-over-brick Charleston single in 1747. The house was later converted to a dry goods store and restored in 1935. It was restored again in the late 1980's and then updated with all new wiring, plumbing, master bath, and gourmet kitchen in 2003. The first floor entry foyer leads you to a formal living room with gas fireplace, a formal dining room, eat-in kitchen, and half bath.
