Manual therapy, sometimes called bodywork, uses pressure, exercises, stretches and heat to manipulate the muscles and restore functionality to the back, lumbar or other areas of the body. Manual physical therapy is an option for those suffering with acute or chronic back pain. Manual therapy will work in distinct ways to help patients by using manipulation techniques that more forcefully push or pull bones and joints into place.
