Established in 1986, Montessori Academy is a year-round preschool, that follows the Montessori method. We provide a strong academic curriculum in a loving, caring environment. This program also includes daily music education and art and contributes to the physical, social and emotional development of the child.
Our beautifully landscaped properties feature a quiet, serene environment and a large, well-supervised, secure play area. Full-time and part-time preschool programs are available, taught by credentialed teachers all year round. Our Montessori preschools serve students ages 2 through 6. Your child does not need to be potty trained; we work with the parents and potty train the child at school.

Services
Our staff is the very heart of Montessori Academy. We are lucky to have very low/no turn over. The majority of our teachers have been with us for 15 or more years. They are extraordinary teachers, administrators, parents, partners and people. They truly care about each and every child at our school and their well-being.
Learn how to converse in different languages and it will be like you've journeyed to different parts of the world. All academic teaching is done in English while teachers speak Spanish and Mandarin languages to our students. The first three to four years of life are considered the best time for children to learn a second language, and is as easy as acquiring knowledge in their first language (Vos, 2008).
Our family is very grateful for the care that has been shown to our daughter in many ways by the staff at Montessori Academy of Culver City (MACC). Our family loves all the teachers and the director at MACC. They are kind, thoughtful, energetic and truly loving to all children at their school. Our daughter's self-proclaimed favorite parts of the day are story time, weekly art/crafts making, outside play, and weekly yoga classes!
The Montessori Method of Education was established by Dr. Maria Montessori in Italy in the early 1900's. Dr. Montessori was the first female physician in Italy in 1896. Prior to her study of medicine, Dr. Montessori had an extensive background in mathematics, engineering and biology.
After studying philosophy, psychology and working with several different groups of children, she created innovative tools designed to stimulate the growth and development of young minds.Dr. Montessori implemented this learning method within several groups of children and discovered a very effective improvement on the existing standard of education.

We keep our little learners busy with fun activities that promote cognitive development as well as physical motor skills. These activities are done either individually (to foster independence) and in groups (to promote socialization skills). Montessori Academy offers supplemental classes which are 100% optional for students to sign up for.

We have two children at MAWA and have been so pleased with our experience. The school is the most charming space with extremely warm and knowledgeable teachers/staff. The school director, Ruhi, has become like family and is the most impressive, knowledgeable and genuine person. She and the teachers truly care about these kids and are committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment where they can grow and learn, play and build confidence in themselves in a world outside of the home. That is so rare to find, and we are just grateful to have that for our kids.
