Why choose just one philosophy? This is the question we asked ourselves when we began creating Young Minds Learning Academy. We feel that with multiple types of learning styles, personalities, and behaviors of children, one single philosophy is not what is best for all children. We decided to create our "Mixed Philosophy Approach".
Circle Time is a time when the children and teacher come together to say good hello and get the day started. During this time your child will sing a good morning song, play a "getting to know each other" activity, have time to share, as well as do our themed read alouds and activities together. This routine is an important element in our day, for it allows the children the opportunity to sit together and get to know each other a little better.
Come take a tour of our preschool to see what we have to offer. Tours are conducted on a regular basis for prospective parents to get a general overview of our teaching style and learning environment. The West LA campus conducts tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am. Venice conducts tours one Saturday a month at 9:30am.
Our 3rd location is a beautiful campus located in the heart of Westchester at 8065 Emerson Avenue. We will be sharing the property with Westchester United Methodist Church. Young Minds Preschool has no religious affiliation with the church.
The preschool property is a large, beautiful campus consisting of 5 classrooms surrounding a beautiful courtyard with play equipment, a large nature-filled playground, a more traditional playground with a slide and play structure, and a mini sports field for weekly sports enrichment.

Young Minds Preschool offers 5 days of enrichment which includes, but is not limited to: cooking, art, science, music, and movement classes! Each class gets a 35-minute rotation with a different enrichment class each day!. Every month they focus on a different sport, some of which include soccer, basketball, and baseball!

My son started here the first day they opened. I have been blown away with how above and beyond everyone goes to make every day special for him and his classmates. I don't think the kids realize they are learning as they play, as they make it so fun! They always have novel activities set up, with daily themes. I also love how they update us with what the kids are doing. The teachers are fantastic at giving each kid the attention they need. The campus is gorgeous and is brimming with creative opportunities. It is a pleasure to see my son blossom with their guidance.

Young Minds has been such an amazing preschool for our daughter. She wakes up excited everyday to go see her teachers and friends. We love all the cute activities the school plans for the kids, the nurturing teachers and have really loved connecting with all the other Westchester parents in our little community. Melissa, the owner has been great and the school has done a great job with Covid precautions. We love Ms. Sangmi and Ms. Tracey - they are very loving and nurturing teachers. We highly recommended YM! We love it!

We've been extremely fortunate to have our kids go through multiple locations and years at YMLA. My eldest daughter went through YMLA Venice and every time we drive by she begs to go back inside. Now our son has started at the brand new YMLA Westchester. Didn't think the facilities could get any better, but WOW! His favorite areas are the construction site with life size digging equipment, the bike race track, and the multiple stations outside. I love the inside courtyard where I hope to one day watch him perform when life returns to normal.

We originally toured the Venice YMLA location, and were so impressed with the school we put an offer on a house on the same street. We didn't get the house, but when we heard Young Minds was opening a Westchester location we were so thrilled and couldn't wait to sign up our son! After seeing the amazing location, and meeting Melissa and Jessica again, there was no doubt we wanted him to attend this incredible preschool. Our son has the most caring, attentive teachers, and is constantly busy with fun activities. The best part of it is at the end of each week, we get a report with pictures

We are so happy to have Young Minds in our neighborhood! We sent our daughter when they opened this location in November, and it has been nothing but a great experience. She loves going to school everyday and I'm so happy she has a place to go with friends and awesome teachers that do interesting and educational activities with them. This school has a real community feel, and we're so grateful it's here!
