First Choice Community Healthcare is dedicated to improving the health, life skills and well-being of all members of the communities we serve. First Choice Community Healthcare is a health care organization that maintains excellence in programs and services with a constant focus on the changing needs of individuals and communities.
First Choice Community Healthcare is a Federally-Qualified Health Center (FQHC) system with nine health centers in three counties, including one school-based health center. We provide primary medical care, dental care and WIC services and have integrated behavioral health care in the primary care setting for our established patients.

Dr. Monthan was absolutely appalling on the phone today. Rather than discuss my husband's bloodwork, provide a referral to a rheumatologist, or discuss medication options such as steroidal anti-inflammatories, she scolded him about his drinking. Far from being simply unhelpful, she was actively rude, dismissive, and demeaning. When there was some sort of technical issue and the call dropped, she did not call back. I am aware that healthcare workers are under a lot of strain at the moment and I respect the work that the vast majority of them do. However, there is no excuse for behavior Dr. Monthan

I have been a patient here for a few years, usually had just okay experiences but as of this week, I am beyond disappointed in the "service that is provided"... I came on Tuesday for a bad knee injury and was referred to get xrays done so I did so the same day. I was told at the place I did xrays I would get results in 1-2 days... well day 3 and I had to call the place I got xrays done and they said they sent results to FCCH so I would have to contact them. I did so and was told that me as the patient was supposed to let FCCH know I went and got the xrays taken... No one ever told me that or I

Ridiculous place! I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Rush, she misses my appointment and i have to reschedule. I tell them i work M-F i can’t answer the phone those days except Thursday. They have the audacity to call me Wednesday and i cant answer. And the doctor still doesnt show up to my appointment again on Thursday. Ridiculous. Really unorganized.

They gave me an appointment on the 11th of January, after waiting a month for this appointment, I was never called, on the 15th they called me at noon to say hey, sorry we have an appointment for you today at 3:30 please be by your phone, since it is only phone appointments, I thought for sure they would call me, and to no avail they did not AGAIN, and now I am sitting without my medicine yet again, called the after hours hoping they just were busy and hadn't gotten to me, they have a Dr. Call me, and he tells me I am just an oncall, cannot give you your gabapentin as it is a controlled substance

This is my first time EVER disliking a clinic . The younger Mexican/Hispanic that works up front and signs people in at their vehicles , is so rude . She isn't nice at all. She has attitude EVERYTIME I go , and denied an appointment I had because I was " 2 minutes " late . Which I wasn't . I was on time but she took forever and when she came out had said I was late . The doctor didn't want to see me because they had just " closed " even though I was on time . Everyone there seems to hate their job and not care about the patients at all. Calling

This is the best experience I've ever had seeing a doctor. It was the first time in my life I've ever been treated with respect and listened to by a medical professional.
The doctor answered all my questions and considered my my financial constraints in her recommendations.
I would recommend this center 100%!
They are knowledgeable about trauma-informed care and associated problems.

Every time my mother has gone in, she receives terrible service. The receptionists don’t bother to assist people quickly, and never seem to be happy. If you work customer service, ESPECIALLY in a health care facility, your goal should be to assist people in a friendly manner. We always wait too long to receive lab results; we have to call or drive out there to get them. One time, my mother had a severe infection and they wanted to schedule her appointment 2 weeks later?? I would give zero stars if it were an option. I am a cancer patient in need of a primary care physician ,and was denied care because I am not registered in their portal yet. I am not registered yet because I am a new patient. They told me that I am not in the portal because my insurance has been cancelled, so I called my insurance company and was told that I am covered, but I was not in the portal because they failed to register me. So, after waiting 2 months to be seen, I was sent home. The next available appointment is in another 2 months. Really upset, I need refills on prescriptions and cannot

My first experience at the dental clinic was disaster -- a doctor who didn't listen and scolded me when I winced from pain. Fortunately for us all, that doctor left the clinic and today I saw Dr. Jackson who was kind, professional and answered all my questions fully. She explained my options and also understood the impact my other medical issues might have on dental work. I highly recommend her, and if you don't think any doctor you see isn't listening and is treating you disrespectfully, ask to see another one. There's no excuse for treating patients in pain badly.

Every visit I have ever had at First choice has always been a great experience. My last visit has encouraged me to write this review. I took my son for a visit due to some concerns with his health. We saw his primary Dr. Stephanie Nevarez-Fernandez she was a little concerned about a few things but didn't want to worry me as a mother too much. She sent us for labs and later in the evening made a personal call to discuss my son's results. Based on her gut feeling she had every right to be concerned. He ended up being diagnosed with Leukemia later that weekend. She referred us to an amazing Doctor
