Inspired Preschool of San Mateo is a high quality home-based preschool in the Parkside neighborhood serving up to 12 children aged 3-5. We are a Reggio-influenced preschool where children are educated through child-centered projects, hands-on experiences, open-ended activities and fine arts materials.

Inspired Preschool of San Mateo is a Reggio-influenced preschool, drawing inspiration from the teaching philosophy founded in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Schools inspired by this philosophy follow the Reggio set of principles, but are all unique to their community of teachers, children, and families, as well as their wider community.
I am a San Mateo native living in the Parkside neighborhood with my husband, our 11- and 5-year-old sons, and our cats, Hobbes and Moo. I have been an early childhood educator for over 20 years. I earned my BA from UC Santa Barbara and my MA in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College. In my early years as an educator, I fell in love with the Reggio-inspired philosophy.
