Gem of a preschool that most parents are unaware of. Teacher June has been running this school for a while and is always in control. Our son really enjoyed going there and we're now looking forward to sending our daughter there as well. My daughter LOVES this school! She asks to go to Petite Sorbonne Preschool even on the weekends!

It's hard to describe what an amazing school this is. I stumbled upon it almost by chance when my son had to quickly find a new school due to him not liking the language immersion school I had initially enrolled him in. As a first time parent, I was of course focused on setting up my son for the best academic future possible and was looking at academically focused pre-schools like Stratford. Visiting that school, I had a mixed feeling of hope for the future, and sadness to see pre-schoolers lined up in those tiny desks doing work. The playground was quiet on the day I visited and there

My daughter went to PSP for over two years - from when we moved to San Mateo to when she started Kindergarten. I wish I could give PSP 100 stars!
I cannot imagine a more friendly, caring preschool. The staff really, really care about the kids and their development. The teachers have at PSP for years, and it's a real family atmosphere. We ended up seeing other kids/parents/families regularly because so many kids invite their friends from PSP to birthday parties, and the whole community of families around the school is wonderful.
I particularly liked that all of the kids were together

Our son has been attending PSP for over a year now. We are really pleased with the program and staff. The teachers are very experienced and have been with PSP basically forever, which gives it more of a family feel rather than some other preschools we toured that were more business-like. Also the teachers have seen and know how to handle pretty much every situation out there. My son has learned a lot from the teachers and other kids while he's been there. He has been really happy there and recently asked to change from 3 days to 5 days per week, so that he would have more time to spend with

Our little one loves Petite Sorbonne. Its a great family-home-style environment with teachers that really care. We consider ourselves lucky to have found this place. They have fun activities like growing vegetables and the focus is very much on playful creative activities. It is exactly what we wanted so our little one would develop a love for school and social skills interacting closely with others. This place really is a hidden gem.

We love PSP! My daughter has been at PSP for 6 months now and we have been nothing but pleased.
The teachers are amazing and my daughter absolutely loves them. It's clear to see why, their focus is always on the children and they provide a safe and educational environment for them.
It seems like the perfect mix of playing and learning. There are different rooms setup for different types of play as well a quiet area with books. They have a nice, big playground as well. Since my daughter started she has learned her ABCs, can recognize letter, spell her name and her counting has greatly improved

My son went to PSP a few years back, and he thrived. My daughter, who is 3yo, was in a home daycare that was closing, and she was not yet toilet trained, so I enrolled her in a different local preschool since PSP requires toilet-trained kids. Big mistake!!
I enrolled her in PSP this week, and I immediately remembered why I love it there. Each kid gets lots of personal attention. When I picked my daughter up at the end of the first day, Teacher June came right up to me and gave me a full report with details. I know already that PSP was the right decision -- my daughter is in excellent hands

Our daughter has been here for over a year now and we LOVE it. The teachers are great and the outdoor play space is big and safe. Teacher June and Teacher Vanessa have been running the show for years and years with NO teacher turnover. Our daughter is thriving and happy. I was at a birthday party once with over 30 preschoolers and one of the moms said to me, "I can always tell the Petite Sorbonne kids from the non-Petite Sorbonne kids. Our kids are the ones that are well behaved." And it's true --- June and Vanessa are teaching the kids to be kind, respectful, and good human

We continue to love this school. The consistent staff presence offers peace of mind to parents, and Teacher June and Teacher Vanessa are gems. The outdoor playground is large and inviting, they do so much art my walls cannot keep up, and they provide home-cooked meals at lunchtime, and snacks in the am/pm. You won't find a better environment for your little one.

We were so happy to have our daughter at Petite Sorbonne Preschool. The director and the teachers are great, there is a nice and sunny playground, hot lunches, cute little beds for nap time and lots of light in the rooms. Kids do fun projects, play games and enjoy reading books on the special cute little couches at the playroom :-) Great preschool!

Very warm and caring atmosphere. Teachers there have been there for 5+ years, which is almost unheard of in some of the other places you'll find.
Everyone there has a genuine vested interested in caring for and nurturing the children. My family and I were personally sad that we had to take our child out when I started a new job in Pleasanton.
Let's just hope Petite Sorbonne will be around for many generations to come ... it's a true asset in the community!

My daughter LOVES this school! She asks to go to Petite Sorbonne Preschool even on the weekends! The teachers are super nice and have kids attending or that have attended in the past so they understand all the antics of kids! Each teacher is wonderful and easy to get along with or talk to and have been at the school for a long time, I love a low turnover! I also love that the school is clean and bright and the children all like being there which is a very important aspect of a great school. This school with its great caring staff is my all time favorite. The day we walked in to view the school

My son attended PSP for 3 years and my daughter goes there now. I looked at every preschool within 30 minutes of San Mateo and just had the best feeing about PSP. The teachers are very experienced and all have been there for some time, they are all fantastic with the kids. The owner and head teacher June is loving and great with both the kids and parents. They do a great job of preparing the children for Kindergarten, but they also do a lot of playing and let the kids be kids. The school is in an old San Mateo home and does not have an institutional feel at all - that was very important to
