Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person's health and well-being. There are dozens of types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities). What separates me from other therapists is my understanding of the muscles and the modalities that are most effective for releasing their issues.
Whether you are dealing with performance anxiety, or trauma over an injury. CranioSacral therapy will help to uncover the issues and allow your body to work through them. What makes BlacknBlue Bodywork unique is how we blend the following modalities into your session to find and relieve the issues in your tissues.

My name is Tammy Moore and I am a certified Massage Therapist. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon my husband and I moved to San Diego in search of fun, sun and a place to raise our family. I'm a former professional athlete; current weekend warrior. A love of sports is what pushed me to get my Bachelor's in Health Promotion and Education at Oregon State University.
Sports massage is a type of massage that is specifically tailored to sporting injuries or ailments. It is not meant to be a relaxing massage and, indeed, can become quite vigorous at times. Contrary to its name, sports massage is not only utilised by professional sportspeople or people that exercise heavily.
ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART.
Structural Integration is a form of manual therapy that focuses on the connective tissue, also known as fascia, in the body with movement as it relates to gravity. Muscles in their basic for can be likened to a straw. The straw is the connective tissue, the muscle fibers run through it like a liquid.

I can't say enough great things about Tammy! She is the best you will find. She knows and understands all the muscles and connections in the body so she can help figure out what is causing you pain. I have been going to her for years and I will never stop. She has helped me go from not being able to move my neck to getting back to being my normal self. I don't know what I would do without her expertise. Highly recommend! I'm so fortunate to have found someone so knowledgeable and caring.

I have received 2 massages from Tammy and both massages were great! my Back and neck are problem areas for me and she was able to release a lot of tension that I was holding. There is a difference between a massage therapist with passion for their job and one without, and with Tammy, you truly feel like you are in good hands! Thanks for the great massages, and look forward to seeing her again.

I received great therapeutic massages from Tammy! She really puts in the time to understand what it is you need to work on, what bothers you specifically that day, and goes to work making that area feel better. I had a really sore neck from a pulled muscle, and she performed some out-of-the-box techniques that I have never experienced before in massage to work on that area in order to make the muscle more supple and less sore. It really worked!! I very highly recommend Tammy. She is a very personable lady who puts you at ease, and her massages are very thorough and definitely do the job for both
