Fundamental Physical Therapy & Pelvic Wellness
NOTE: We are not currently taking new clients, but for more information about addressing pelvic health concerns, please take a look at Debbie Cohen's book. Ever since I had my second baby, I realized that my stomach and pelvic muscles were just not what they used to be, and I had been having trouble controlling my bladder.

I was afraid to be out in public without knowing where the restroom was, and I drank less water than I wanted to for fear of having leaks when I sneezed, or not making it to the restroom in time. When I went to see Debbie, she was able to guide me through the right plan customized just for me to get rid of my leaking problem in just a few weeks.

Debbie is extremely knowledgable and works with you to meet your individual needs. She completed an in-depth interview and a full physical assessment before we began our work together. My goals were based on identified needs as well as my personal priorities. Debbie made sure I not only progressed physically, but also ensured I became more knowledgable about my body so I could continue on my journey after our work together was complete.

I started seeing Debbie for hip pain and also pelvic wellness. I have seen many physical therapists in the past and none come close to her knowledge and professionalism. She helped me prepare for hip surgery and then also helped my wellness afterwards. I honestly would not have been able to do what I did without her. She cares so much about her patients and that is obvious. I can’t recommend Debbie highly enough.

Debbie Cohen, PT of Fundamental Physical Therapy, helped me to recover and gain strength and muscle tone back after two surgeries in my
Pelvic floor. She also encouraged me when I was weak that in time I would be able to do the things I love. I now am able to hike, kayak and get together with friends without pain. She also taught me how to listen to my body and know my limitations. I highly recommend her and trust her years of experience in her field of Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy!

Can't say enough about Debbie Cohen and the way she helped me. As a health practitioner, I have had experience with other Physical Therapist for injuries and health related needs and treating them. She is the best I have come across. Her knowledge and experience are at the top of her profession.

After one mistaken diagnosis, it was finally determined that I have pudendal neuralgia. I went to one physical therapy group in San Diego. They helped relax my pelvic muscles but I felt like I was in an assembly line and didn't learn anything about care I could do on my own. Then I went to a PT group outside of San Diego that did not take insurance. But again, I learned nothing about what I could do on my own to help control my condition. Then a few years later I developed pelvic floor dysfunction (which often goes with pudendal neuralgia) and went back to see my Urologist. He recommended that

After 4 years of struggling with bladder leakage and getting nowhere I found Debbie's website. I emailed her immediately and told her my story. I had had physical therapy before through my doctor, but it was very basic and did nothing to help my problem. She listened and for the first time I felt like someone was with me and understood my problem and the difficulties I was having. Over the course of my sessions with Debbie we were able to look at the issue, not only physically, but physiologically. We also discussed lifestyle, stress and emotional factors that can also play into our physical issues

One of the best professionals that I have ever been to. Debbie has been outstanding in her knowledge and understanding of the body and the ailments of the pelvic floor. The sessions are private, one-on-one and specifically catered to your goals. If you want quality, answers, and a natural approach to fixing pelvic issues, Debbie is the person to see. Thank you for the help so far!

Debbie has a wealth of knowledge about pain and the relationship between the mental and physical aspects of how a person feels and reacts to it. She gave me reassurance each week that I was okay, and was on the toad to recovery. I am grateful to have worked with her and highly recommend her to anyone experiencing pelvic discomfort.

I am a long time cyclist and started commuting which increased my mileage considerably, unfortunately I also began riding with a backpack. After a year I had felt a pain in my perineum and then began to feel many symptoms that looked like Prostatitis, I went to a medical doctor and took various tests that were all negative, I also to regimens of antibiotics and the pain only increased. I was extremely fortunate to find Debbie Cohen I was in a lot of pain with this Chronic Pelvic Pain syndrome, it isn't talked about but it is definitely humbling and scary to endure especially when you don't get
