The philosophical base of kindergartens developed in Hawaii through contacts made by Henry Castle, a scholarly son of the early missionaries Samuel N. and Mary Castle. In his college studies, Henry became a friend and colleague of several of the leading American progressives of the period. En route home to Hawai'i, he drowned at sea.
Research has repeatedly shown that a high-quality preschool experience stimulates brain development and promotes social, cognitive, and physical gains in young children. The quality of the experience that a child has in the first 5 years of life lays the foundation for the kind of adult that child becomes.
All of our centers are licensed by the State of Hawaii and are designed to meet the standards of excellence set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). KCAA Strives for all of our centers to meet national accreditation standards.

Early childhood programs accredited by NAEYC have voluntarily undergone a comprehensive process of internal self-study, invited external professional review to verify compliance with Criteria for High-Quality Early Childhood Programs and have been found in substantial compliance with criteria.

I love this school for so many reasons
1. My son loves it here. He went to a previous preschool/daycare before transitioning to this school and his response to waking up and getting ready in the morning is totally different now.
2. Nice large playground for the children to play in. There is a sandbox house in addition to slides and swings. There are also little tricycles for the children to ride around with.
3. They have a curriculum. While I am a believer of not overwhelming children with information, KCAA schools have a curriculum for students to follow. This focuses on gross and

My son has been attending here in the 3 year old program for the past two months and I have really seen a huge increase in his vocabulary and his ability to communicate with others. He is more creative now too. I really like the teachers here ... and the very large outdoor area that the kids can play in is amazing!!! there is a sandhouse and grass and huge playground. the tuition is so reasonable compared to other preschools and the hours are good too. I hope my next son is accepted for the 2 year old program when he turns 2... there is a long waitlist here.

As a parent, we already have enough on our plates to juggle. The last thing we need is a childcare provider that sets policies in place to make our lives more difficult. I haven't even started my child at this preschool yet and I am already regretting putting her on the 6 month wait list.

Here's why...

I placed my child on the waitlist in December, 2015. I heard good things from a neighbor so I was excited to get my child into the KCAA preschool. We had to pay a holding fee to place her on the waitlist.

I get a call in late May that a spot opened up for August and we had to come

I can't believe that I haven't written a review of this wonderful preschool. My son went here for 2 years before moving on to kindergarten.
My daughter is here...and will be here for another 2 years.
The location is easy for drop off...which is a huge plus in the morning rush.
My daughter's class had frequent "buggy rides" into the neighborhood: Introduced Jamba Juice to my daughter's life----not sure if this is a good or bad thing :P
Teachers are all friendly and go out of their way to accommodate. Cora, the director is also very aware of the school and operations

My son has been here for 2 years now. Very good location, easy parking for pick up and drop off, large playground. The teachers and staff are very nice, they know all the children's names. They have a late pick up till 5:30pm is one of the reasons I chose this school. They provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. Should apply early because there is a waiting list. They take children from 2 years old.
